The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property through collaborative security efforts and proactive infrastructural interventions across the council area.
Speaking during a Security Stakeholders’ Engagement Meeting held with traditional rulers, Baales, community leaders, and security agencies across Lekki LCDA, the chairman emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining peace and security within communities.
According to Engr. Kasali, effective security can only be achieved when government, traditional institutions, security operatives, and residents work together toward a common goal. The engagement provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss security concerns, share valuable information, and collectively develop practical solutions to emerging challenges.
During the meeting, the chairman informed stakeholders about the recent deployment of a new security squad by the Lagos State Government, consisting of four patrol vehicles and twenty armed operatives.
He also disclosed plans by the council to inaugurate a Joint Vigilante Group aimed at strengthening community surveillance and supporting existing security structures across Lekki LCDA.
Engr. Kasali expressed appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Oba Liasim Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, Onilekki of Lekki; His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismaila Adeleke Akibu, Onilepia of Lepia; Baales, community leaders, and security agencies for their invaluable contributions and continued support toward ensuring a secure environment for residents.
He reiterated that the council would continue to take proactive measures to ensure Lekki LCDA remains safe, peaceful, and secure for all.
In a related development, the chairman’s commitment to security was further underscored by an earlier intervention in the education sector through the construction of a perimeter fence at RCM Primary School, Oriyanrin.
The project, executed long before recent concerns over school security gained widespread attention, was designed to provide a safer and more secure learning environment for pupils and teachers. The initiative has since been recognized as a forward-thinking measure that demonstrates the administration’s proactive approach to governance.

As conversations around the security of schools continue across the country, the perimeter fencing project at RCM Primary School stands as a testament to the Lekki LCDA administration’s commitment to anticipating challenges and implementing solutions before they escalate into emergencies.
Residents and stakeholders have continued to commend the chairman’s efforts, noting that such initiatives reflect a leadership style focused on prevention, preparedness, and the overall well-being of the community.
