
The Lagos Unity Movement (LUM-KOH2027), a political support group championing the governorship aspiration of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general election, has inaugurated its leaders and coordinators across Lagos State as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structure and advance its 4 Million Votes Agenda.
The inauguration ceremony attracted political stakeholders, coordinators, and supporters from various local government areas, local council development areas, and wards across the state. The movement used the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to unity, coordination, and grassroots mobilisation.
Speaking at the event, the Convener of the movement, Engr. Rasheed Olumide Teslim Balogun, said the group remains focused on building a formidable grassroots network capable of delivering widespread voter engagement across Lagos State. He expressed confidence that the movement’s target is achievable, noting that the state has over seven million registered voters.
The State Coordinator, Dr. Kadri Babatunde Adeleke (Sayleke), disclosed that the movement has completed its groundwork in Lagos East Senatorial District, with plans underway to replicate the structure in Lagos West and Lagos Central Senatorial Districts. He expressed optimism that the group’s 4 million votes target would be realised through sustained mobilisation efforts.
Also addressing participants, the Co-Convener, Deacon Oluyemi Sunday Olaleye (JP), described Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as an experienced leader whose record of public service has positioned him for greater responsibilities.
The women wing of the movement also declared its readiness to support the group’s objectives. Speaking on behalf of the women, Alhaja Rasheed Bello, Woman Leader of Lagos West Senatorial District, stated that women across the state are mobilised and committed to ensuring the success of the movement.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Hajia Fauziyat Bolanle Ogun, who received an award for her service to humanity and was officially appointed as the Matron of Lagos Unity Movement (LUM-KOH2027). She pledged her support for the movement’s vision and grassroots expansion drive.
The event concluded with the inauguration of leaders and coordinators, as the movement reaffirmed its commitment to building a strong political network and expanding its grassroots presence across Lagos State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
