The Mainland Youth Initiative, a popular Community based organisation in Lagos Mainland has joined the entire world to celebrate their own Bimbo Ademoye who emerged as best actress in Comedy on Saturday in her role in Selina, the Award is an annual Premier organised by the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA 2023).

The Youth who joined her during the presentation of the Award to her father pour encomium on Hon. Ademoye for his fatherly role in nurturing not only to his biological children but to all in the community. Bimbo during her visit to her dad on Sunday stated that she came back home to present the Award to her biggest supporter, her backbone and her rock who has always stood by her at all times.

She narrated when her dad took her for an audition and had to wait for about six (6) hours, she appreciated her dad whom she did not meet at home but remembers his popular joint where he grounds with young people whenever he is less busy. She further explained how the community (My hood in her words) helped her produced all the characters that have made her viewers laugh from iya barakat to todowede to selina.

She was heard quote with joy saying “I’ve had to mimic someone from the hood to give those characters life. My name is Bimbo Ademoye, Ademoye Adekunke’s daughter, Ari’s aunty ,and I’m from Ebute meta . Born and bred in the hood. There are so many people I’d love to appreciate. I’m prepping my speech guys.”

A senior Co-Convener of Mainalnd Youth Initiative, Amodu Sheu has Urge parent to mentor their children on the right path of posterity that the only gift a parent can give to their wards is an assured future which is a product of positive mentorship, they further advised parents to emulate the good characters as exhibited by Hon. Ademoye to his children and young people whom he mentors in the community.

Popular nollywood actor and producer, Saidi Balogun has said the Nigerian movie industry lacks proper structure which is affecting the performance of actors.

During the Interview, he disclosed that there is a need for the government to assist movie makers by providing a structure to enable actors relay meaningful messages through movies.

Balogun also explained that foreign and local investors will be motivated when the development of nollywood movie productions are standardized.

He said “there are association of actors that oversee the affairs of the industry, we have too many associations with over 80 registered and 21 performing. We are trying to create Federation of Nollywood Association and guild so that we can be under one umbrella and when a law is being passed, it can also be checked”.

Young Hustlers Entertainment (YHE) has signed a fast-rising musician, 2hitz DG who has over the years was a talented young chap to look out for in the music industry.

It was chronology in the making at Oshodi Arts Gallery on the 22nd of February 2022, as delegates from the guild of Nigeria dance practitioners (Lagos State chapter) graced the 2nd largest art collection centre in Africa (based in Ikorodu)


The press conference of a meeting aimed at bringing a synergy between dance, theatre and visualisation, saw the Guild, ably led by its chairman (Mrs Ugo Obiayo Esq) bring to fruition the official partnership between the prestigious Art centre and the dance guild, thereby creating a coexisting niche for creative talents from both expanses


With dancers from different genres also present, the conference via the Guild, clearly enlightened both parties involved on the need to collaborate, bridging the gap and creating more futuristic opportunities for upcoming talents, giving them a sense of belongings
Also symbolising empowerment for youths, event/project execution, sensitisation agendas and enhanced training, the coalition according to GONDP’s chairman, is a step in the right direction to cement numerous crafts in the entertainment sector


Mrs Ugo Obiayo Esq continued, “Ikorodu as a waterbed region in Lagos state, is well known to house a lot of creative talents and celebrities, this region is special to us, and for a while now, GONDP has been making plans to establish a branch here”


“Having this collaboration with a masterpiece like Oshodi Arts Gallery, also making the institution our headquarters in Ikorodu, there would be no better form of a partnership than this to spearhead our productive course”

D’Bard Creative Media Partners Laspotech Drama Troupe in Stage Play to Fight Against Drug Abuse, Cultism ~Ajasa-Info


D’Bard Creative Media, a creative hub in partnership with D’Theatrepreneurs of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Lagos State Polytechnic and the Mass Communication Department Students Association (Day Special) staged the Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in commemoration of the Valentine’s Day celebration.

The stage performance which was tagged “The Love Concert” featured musical performance, Comedy, and the Stage Performance of the Adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

Gracing the event is the renowned Nollywood actress, Sola Kosoko. Reacting to the performance, Kosoko commended the organiser of the event, D’Bard Creative Media, and the students for putting up such an amazing performance.

Speaking on the objective of the program, the lead creative at D’Bard Creative Media, Waliu Adeyeri, said “the objectives of the project is to resuscitate the essence of genuine love in our society.”



The absence of love for oneself is the root cause of intake of illicit drugs that hurts the body, while the absence of love for another person is the root cause of killings and cultism. This performance is aimed at propagating the essence of love.”

The troupe was also awarded by D’Bard Creative Media for successfully interpreting the piece.

For FunmiAyinke Waheed Adekojo every opportunity is a chance to help the needy hence her new show on Instagram which has been tailored to inspire and also motivate her teeming followers while also helping those who have talents to discover them.

The show has both Motivational talk and Talent Hunt segments with top celebrities and achievers, usually orators invited to speak on topical issues meant to strengthen the listeners belief in themselves after which youths who have sent in their entries are screened by a panel of judges that have been selected for the purpose.

It was an afternoon like no other a few days ago in the city of Abuja as the fast rising Inspirational singer, Engr Dr Funmi Ayinke Waheed Adekojo was honoured for her recent inputs into the global music industry.
The philanthropist who only recently ventured into music could not believe as she won two different honours over her recent works in the industry.
She won the Songwriter of the year Award for 2020/2021 as well as Inspirational Music of the Year 2020/2021 Award from the West African Gospel Music Awards based in Ghana.


According to the CEO of the Awards, her music appeal to all. They ‘soothe nerves, give people reason to hope and help in building confidence. These are the reasons why it has been picked as the Inspirational Song of the Year, 2020/2021’
Speaking further they claimed that ‘at a time when the whole world is down with hopelessness, her music offers hope and encourages people to pick themselves up and be strong’.


They also appreciated her songwriting prowess while encouraging her to share her depth of knowledge and talent with other singers, hence the Award as the Songwriter of the year.
Highlight of the well-attended event was the stunning presentation of her two singles which earned her standing ovation from all the guests.

The Lagos State Government has congratulated the two Nigerian singers who won Grammy Awards at the just concluded 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, USA, on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

In a congratulatory message to the duo, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, described the achievements of Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy and Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun also known as Wizkid, as very historic and motivational.

The Commissioner said that the Awards were a boost to the country’s entertainment scene and special recognition for Lagos State, being the hub of entertainment and the start-point for most Nigerian Hip-Hop artistes.

Akinbile-Yussuf said, “This Grammy Awards for two of our music stars show persistence, vision, tenacity, sense of purpose and breakthrough in a very competitive music genre”.

While urging the upcoming artistes to be motivated by the feat attained by Burna Boy and Wizkid, the Commissioner said “anything that can be dreamt of, could also be achieved, provided one is determined to remain focussed on it”.

Recall that Burna Boy won his first Grammy Award with his Album “Twice as Tall”, which was nominated alongside four others, while the song “Brown Skin Girl” in which Beyonce featured Wizkid, won the award for Best Music Video at the 63rd annual Grammy Awards. The feat was the first Grammy award for Wizkid.

Among students of higher institutions especially in the Southwest axis, Funmi Ayinke Waheed Adekojo is a household name. Thousands have benefited from her support and many more are still benefiting.


Her philanthropic works also include helping widows and single mothers many of who she empowered either by providing equipment for small businesses or cash to start something worthwhile. Through her FunmiAyinke Humanity Foundation, FHF, she has been touching lives and continues to.


Only a few days ago, she came to the aide of school kids in ONDO State by providing exercise books for thousands of students in Akoko area of the state, to the joy of parents and traditional rulers in the area.


The female Engineer, who is a mother herself will always tell you she is what she is today because her husband has been there for her. A Fellow of the prestigious Nigeria Society of Engineers, FNSE, she also holds fellowships of many other local and International organizations such as Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers, FNIMechE, Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants FIMC, Fellow, International Management Specialists UK, FIMS. Despite all these successes, she has also ventured into music. It was gathered that the music stint came as inspirations from God hence the type of songs she sings.
She started out as musician last year and her second single, I Will Make it, is already making waves in radio Stations in Lagos and Abuja. A few days ago she received nomination for Inspirational Song of the Year as well as Songwriter of the Year from organisers of West Africa Gospel Music Awards.


She writes all her songs herself and she has confided in friends that she has an avalanche of songs already written.
