The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Worthline83 International Services Limited, Engr. Johnpaul G. Meranda, has attained a major academic milestone following the successful completion of his Doctoral Viva Voce Examination, marking the final stage of his Ph.D. programme in Transport Management with specialization in Maritime Studies.

The achievement, recorded on June 19, 2026, further reflects his commitment to academic excellence, professional development, and lifelong learning.

Engr. Meranda, a renowned entrepreneur, transport management expert, engineer, and philanthropist from Lagos Island, earned the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from Redeemer’s University, Nigeria. He is widely known for his contributions to the transportation and maritime sectors, as well as his leadership in business and community development.

As the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Worthline International Services Limited, a company with interests in real estate development, maritime transportation, construction, dredging, import and export, and other business ventures, he has played a significant role in promoting economic growth and job creation since establishing the company in 2012.

A highly accomplished scholar, Engr. Meranda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lagos State University (LASU) and multiple Master’s Degrees from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Transportation Planning and Management, Geography (Transportation and Environmental Management), and Industrial and Labour Relations. He is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Housing Studies at UNILAG and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at Arden University, United Kingdom.

His professional credentials include membership of several notable bodies such as the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA), and the Chartered Institute of Marine, Port and Terminal Management Professionals (USA).

Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Engr. Meranda is recognized for his philanthropic efforts through the Mo’Care Meranda Charity Foundation, which supports vulnerable individuals, educational initiatives, and community empowerment programmes.
