The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Branch, organized a professional workshop called “The Syncytium” on Saturday, 9th of December 2023.

The workshop featured keynote speakers Mr. Yele Okeremi CEO Precise Financial Systems LTD represented by Mr. Babajide Alaka, and Olatunbosun Alake represented by Mr Ibrahim Kehinde, Commissioner for Science and Technology in Lagos State. They were joined by guest speakers Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlede Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State he was represented by his Personal Assistant Mr. Yahya, Hon. Owolabi Falana, Permanent Board Member of SUBEB Lagos State, and Ibrahim Idowu, Microsoft Power Platform Consultant.

The workshop included a project exhibition, panel discussions, and an award presentation. Ten schools participated in the Tech Challenge, competing for the grand prize. Didado College emerged as the 1st position with a score of 81 points, followed closely by Elobs Private School in the 2nd position with 80 points. Tom Caleb High School secured the 3rd position with a score of 76 points.

In addition to the grand prize, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala, awarded cash prizes to the winners. The 1st position received 100 thousand naira, the 2nd position received 75 thousand naira, and the 3rd position received 50 thousand naira.

Engr. Adigun Olalekan Ibrahim, during his speech at the recently held maiden professional workshop “Syncytium,” expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all the invited guests for gracing the occasion with their presence. He emphasized that the main objective of organizing this workshop was to foster tech exposure in secondary schools and promote professionalism in youth activism.

Engr. Ibrahim passionately conveyed the importance of exploring opportunities within the tech space, regardless of one’s profession. He highlighted the need to embrace technology and its vast potential for growth and development.

Furthermore, Engr. Ibrahim extended his special appreciation to Hon. Rasaq Ajala for his unwavering support to the youths in Odi-Olowo LCDA. He acknowledged Hon. Ajala’s commitment to empowering the younger generation and creating opportunities for their growth and success.

Engr. Ibrahim also took the opportunity to commend the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Habeeb Olaniyi, and his dedicated team for their hard work and meticulous planning that made the workshop a resounding success.

Lastly, Engr. Ibrahim expressed his gratitude towards the teachers who prepared the students for the Tech Challenge. Their dedication and guidance played a crucial role in shaping the students’ skills and confidence.
