The Director General of the Tinubu-Hamzat Epe Division Solidarity Front (THEDSF), Comrade Giwa Moshood Olasupo (GMO), has said the group was established to unite progressive stakeholders across Epe Division and strengthen grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

Speaking during a press interview, Giwa, a public health practitioner and youth leader, explained that the initiative was born out of the need to bridge gaps in grassroots engagement and ensure that government policies translate into tangible benefits for communities across the division.

According to him, THEDSF was founded alongside other like-minded leaders to bring together youths, elders, professionals, and community mobilisers under a common platform dedicated to advancing the vision of President Tinubu and Deputy Governor Hamzat.

He noted that years of grassroots mobilisation and political coordination revealed the need for a more structured and unified approach to political engagement, adding that Epe Division stands to benefit more when stakeholders work together with a shared purpose.

The THEDSF Director General described the current political period as critical, stressing that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the developmental vision of Dr. Hamzat require deliberate and sustained grassroots support.

He further stated that the emergence of Dr. Hamzat, an indigene of Epe Division, as the anointed governorship candidate of President Tinubu has further strengthened the resolve of supporters across the division to organise and mobilise effectively.

Giwa said the group aims to coordinate support efforts, educate voters on government policies, counter misinformation, and deepen political participation at the grassroots level. He added that THEDSF would focus on engagement down to the polling unit to ensure residents understand government programmes and actively participate in the democratic process.

Highlighting the role of young people in the movement, he described youths as the largest voting bloc and a critical force in shaping the future of the division and the country.

He disclosed that THEDSF would drive youth participation through political education, creative engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts, he explained, would include simplifying government policies for better understanding, leveraging digital media and community-based activities for mobilisation, and connecting young people with skills development, mentorship, and empowerment opportunities.

Giwa maintained that the group’s objective is to ensure that youths across Epe Division see themselves as active stakeholders in the Tinubu-Hamzat agenda while contributing meaningfully to community development.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of the movement to galvanise support ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that THEDSF is committed to doubling the division’s 2023 voter turnout and delivering victory for all candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
