Olamilekan Dada hosted the third edition of Rye Street Cycling in Anibaba area of Ikorodu, The event aimed to engage young people and teens in positive activities while also raising awareness about the state of the roads in the community.

The cycling competition saw enthusiastic participants compete for the top positions. Mohammed secured the third position and was awarded ₦5,000, while Lawal claimed the second position and received ₦7,000. And Samod emerged as the fastest lap winner he was honored with Adedayo Adejumoke Dada fastest lap the award named after the mother of the event’s initiator, Olamilekan Dada.

The race commenced from Eketunde Street through Anibaba Street to Omini Street, then Orewaye Street, end at Eketunde Street.

Olamilekan Aliu Dada, the founder of Rye cycling competition and a resident of Anibaba Eketunde, shared his motivation for organizing the street cycling event. He expressed his desire to provide a positive outlet for the youth in the community and also shed light on the condition of the roads through videos captured during the event. This unique approach aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by car owners and the need for road improvements.

The event featured exciting prizes for the winners, with the first-place cyclist taking home ₦10,000, the second-place winner receiving ₦7,000, and the third-place finisher awarded ₦5,000. The fastest lap award, named in memory of Olamilekan’s mother, Adebayo Adejumoke Dada, added an element of surprise and recognition for exceptional performance.

The street cycling event successfully combined fun and community engagement while highlighting the importance of road awareness. By changing the name to “street cycling,” Olamilekan aimed to emphasize the event’s connection to the community and its focus on addressing local road conditions.
