Olamilekan Dada host the second edition of RYE cycling competition in Anibaba, Ikorodu which is aimed at promoting cycling as a sport and recreation in every community.
The race commenced from Eketunde Street through Anibaba Street to Omini Street, then Orewaye Street, end at Eketunde Street.
According to the host of the competition Olamilekan Dada “my decision behind this cycling is because we need to look at other sports that we can develop ourself and get talents from there to promote our children and the people, I want to promote cycling as a sport and as a recreation activity in the community to take away their minds from other extra curriculum activities that make the society look like a terror zone.”
“We find talents and work on them and walk them to a greater height, we have people like hurdle record breaker (Tobi Amusan) we can have that too in other sports like tennis, cycling but today the participants will be given a token and award (Medal) it’s not just the money but the fun and make them work on themselves, this is the second edition we’re not where we want it to be but as time goes we will move and there is still more projects after this, it is not cycling alone we have for the children” he added
At the end of the race Quadri Alataniyo emerged first while Rasheed Balogun “Celeb” come second, for the third position is Lawal Bamidele, and the Fastest lap Adeoye Odubayeje, each of them got cash prize and medals.
