
Royal fathers, political leaders and party stakeholders across Ikorodu Division have lauded the performance of the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Babajimi Benson, and endorsed him for another term in office during a series of consultation and appreciation visits ahead of the APC party primaries in Lagos State.
The visits were marked by royal blessings, commendations, and strong expressions of support from traditional rulers, political leaders and party members across the division.
The first engagement took place at the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, where Rep. Benson met with prominent traditional rulers from across Ikorodu Division to seek royal blessings and appreciate the role of the traditional institution in promoting peace and development.
Among the royal fathers present were Oba Abdulkabir Adewale Shotobi, Oba Ajibade Agoro, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Oba Adeoriyomi Oyebo, Oba Bashiru Aremu Sotonwa, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Oba Olukayode Raji, the Alagura of Agura, and Oba Adefarasin Saheed Hassan.
Members of the various traditional councils across the division were also present during the meeting, where prayers were offered for wisdom, strength and continued impactful representation.
Rep. Benson also met with APC leaders and members of the Olowu caucus, where party leaders commended his accessibility, constituency projects and empowerment initiatives, describing him as a responsive representative who has maintained strong grassroots engagement.
The political leaders noted that his performance and consistent connection with constituents informed their decision to endorse him for another term in the House of Representatives.
During the engagement, the federal lawmaker disclosed that supporters voluntarily produced campaign materials, including caps, vests and banners, without any financial contribution from him, describing the gesture as a reflection of the confidence and goodwill he enjoys among constituents.
He assured party members and residents that additional empowerment programmes and developmental initiatives would be introduced after the party primaries.
The meeting also featured endorsements from APC leaders and members, Community Development Committees (CDC), and members of APC Justice Forum, Igbogbo, all pledging support for another term for the lawmaker.
Several council chairmen, councillors and party executives across Ikorodu Division attended the consultations, including Hammed Aroyewu, Abdul Lateef Ladega, Mayor Apanisile of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo of Ijede LCDA, alongside councillors and party officials from different wards.
As part of the consultations, Rep. Benson also paid courtesy visits to former Minister of Works, Adeseye Ogunlewe, and elder statesman, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, where both leaders commended his performance in office and endorsed his continued representation.
Throughout the engagements, Rep. Babajimi Benson expressed appreciation to royal fathers, political leaders, party members and residents for their continued support, pledging sustained commitment to empowerment programmes and developmental projects across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
