The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, on May 29th, 2026, unveiled a new jersey for the MAYORESS FOOTBALL ACADEMY IKOSI-ISHERI LCDA as part of efforts to promote youth development and grassroots sports within the council area.

The newly unveiled jersey, inscribed with the words “Renewed Hope Ikosi-Isheri,” symbolizes the academy’s commitment to nurturing young talents and supporting initiatives that foster community development through sports.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Princess Bada described sports as a vital tool for youth empowerment, character development, and social cohesion. She noted that the football academy was established to provide a platform for discovering and developing football talents while encouraging discipline, teamwork, and excellence among young people.

The Mayoress stated that the new jersey represents hope, unity, and progress, adding that the academy will continue to serve as a vehicle for engaging youths positively and helping them realize their potential.

She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to investing in programmes that empower young people and create opportunities for them to excel in sports and other areas of endeavour.

Princess Bada further emphasized that grassroots sports development remains an important component of community growth and youth engagement, noting that the council will continue to support initiatives that promote talent discovery and development.
