The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, on Sunday hosted leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to an Eid-el-Kabir (Ileya) get-together at his Ikorodu residence, where he emphasized unity and party cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering brought together the Lagos State APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi; Council Chairmen; and other notable members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), including His Excellency Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, Alhaji Shakiru Akanni Seriki (Bamu), Alhaji Mutiu Aare, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and Alhaji Bode Oyedele,  members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, party executives; and other key stakeholders from across Lagos East Senatorial District.



Speaking at the get-together, Senator Abiru urged party members who were unsuccessful during the APC primaries to remain committed to the party and support all APC candidates. He stressed that unity, loyalty, and collective responsibility remain critical to the party’s continued success.
He called on APC members to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the APC leadership at all levels, noting that the party’s strength lies in its ability to remain united in pursuit of common goals.

The Senator also highlighted several achievements recorded during his stewardship, including interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, economic development, and human capital advancement across the district. He assured constituents of his continued commitment to delivering impactful representation and sustainable development.

Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Ojelabi and other members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) who attended the event lauded Senator Abiru’s performance, stressing that the lawmaker had made the party and leadership very proud. Attesting to his numerous developmental projects and people-oriented programmes across Lagos East, the leaders urged other elected representatives to learn from Abiru’s approach to governance.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to Senator Abiru on Constituency Matters, Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, commended the Senator’s track record of responsive leadership and effective representation, describing him as a dedicated public servant committed to the welfare of the people.

In her closing remarks, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola praised the people of Lagos East for their unwavering support for Senator Abiru, describing him as a worthy representative whose contributions continue to impact lives across the district.
