
Following the successful conclusion of the historic Region 2 Retreat, which featured leadership and capacity-building training sessions, networking opportunities, team-building engagements, a fitness walk, and a humanitarian service project at the Igbogbo Primary Health Care Centre, the Region Director of Leo Region 2, District 404A3 Nigeria, Leo Lawal Adeola Keji, presided over the final Region Meeting of the 2025/2026 Lions Service Year.
The meeting also featured the recognition of outstanding members and clubs as well as the symbolic handover of leadership to incoming Region Directors.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements recorded during the service year while recognizing members and clubs whose dedication, commitment, and contributions significantly advanced the goals of the region.
A major highlight of the gathering was the presentation of awards to deserving members and clubs in recognition of their outstanding support and service throughout the year. Honours were presented in several categories, including Most Supportive Members, Top 15 Outstanding Members, Top 10 Outstanding Members, Top 5 Outstanding Members, and Top 5 Performing Leo Clubs, among other special recognition awards.
Speaking during the meeting, Leo Lawal expressed appreciation to members for their unwavering support, dedication, and teamwork throughout the service year, noting that the achievements recorded by Region 2 were made possible through collective efforts and a shared commitment to service.
The Region Director also reflected on the recently concluded Region 2 Retreat 2026, describing it as a landmark achievement for the region. The retreat, which was the first of its kind in the history of Region 2, was a two-day event designed to strengthen leadership capacity, foster collaboration, and promote personal development among members.
Activities during the retreat included leadership and capacity-building training sessions, networking opportunities, team-building engagements, and a fitness walk aimed at promoting healthy living and wellness among participants. The retreat brought together Leos from across the region and provided a platform for learning, inspiration, and strategic discussions on strengthening service delivery within Leo District 404A3 Nigeria.
As part of the retreat activities, members also carried out a humanitarian service project at the Igbogbo Primary Health Care Centre, where the region donated bed sheets and other essential items to support healthcare delivery and improve the welfare of patients at the facility. The outreach underscored the commitment of Leo Region 2 to community service and humanitarian impact, in line with the ideals of Lions Clubs International.
Another major highlight of the meeting was the symbolic transition of leadership. Leo Lawal formally handed over the mantle of leadership to Leo Owolabi Ismail, Region Director-Elect of Region 3, and Leo Habibat Adenaike, Region Director-Elect of Region 4, both of Leo District 404A3 Nigeria of Lions International.
The handover ceremony underscored the continuity of leadership within the district and the commitment to sustaining the values, vision, and culture of service that define the Leo movement. Members applauded the incoming leaders and expressed confidence in their ability to build on the successes achieved during the outgoing administration.
The award presentations and leadership transition were met with excitement and admiration as members celebrated excellence, dedication, and the emergence of a new generation of leaders prepared to advance the ideals of Leoism.
The Last Region Meeting concluded on a high note, with members reflecting on the memorable experiences, impactful projects, milestones, and achievements of the service year while renewing their commitment to community service, leadership development, and humanitarian impact across Leo District 404A3 Nigeria.
