
Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Ikorodu Constituency II ahead of the 2027 Lagos State House of Assembly election.
According to the officially collated results released at the end of the exercise, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun recorded an overwhelming victory across the wards in the constituency, further strengthening his political profile and demonstrating broad-based support among party members and stakeholders.
The primary election, which covered wards B1, B2, C1, C2, C3, C4, D1, and D2, was conducted peacefully under the supervision of party officials and accredited electoral agents. At the conclusion of the collation process, Matti Olakunle polled 114 votes, while Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun secured a total of 33,696 votes to emerge victorious.
Political stakeholders and observers within Ikorodu described the outcome as a strong endorsement of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun’s grassroots appeal, loyalty to the party, and growing influence across the constituency.
Moments after the announcement, supporters and party faithful celebrated the victory, describing it as “a triumph for continuity, effective representation, and sustained grassroots engagement.”
Party members also commended the orderly and transparent conduct of the primary election, expressing confidence that the APC would maintain its dominance in Ikorodu Constituency II during the 2027 general elections.
With the outcome of the primary, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun now becomes the APC candidate for Ikorodu Constituency II, setting the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested race in the forthcoming general election.
