The Lagos State Chapel of Christ the Light has launched its 2026 Harvest themed “Harvest of Strength,” with the Presiding Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Dele Ajayi, leading members of the congregation, government officials, and guests at the special thanksgiving and harvest inauguration service.
Delivering the harvest sermon, the Guest Preacher, Archbishop Funsho Awe, reflected on the significance of harvest from a spiritual perspective.
He noted that God planted every human being on earth as a seed and has provided everything necessary for growth, survival, and fruitfulness.
According to him, just as farmers gather their harvest at the appropriate time, there will also come a time when God will harvest every life He has planted.
He stressed that while every individual will eventually be called by God, believers should strive to live fruitful lives and pray to be found worthy as good fruits when their time comes.
Archbishop Awe further encouraged Christians to live purposefully, bear fruits of righteousness, and remain steadfast in their faith, emphasizing that a fruitful life is measured not only by material accomplishments but also by positive impact on humanity and service to God.
While launching the 2026 Harvest themed “Harvest of Strength,” the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Bukola Durodola, expressed gratitude to the Chapel of Christ the Light for its unwavering support, prayers, and contributions to the growth, peace, and development of Lagos State.
He noted that the impact of the chapel’s spiritual guidance and intercessory efforts is widely felt across the state and commended the church for its consistent role in promoting moral values, spiritual development, and social harmony among public servants and the wider society. He described the chapel as a beacon of hope and inspiration whose activities continue to contribute positively to the development of Lagos State through prayers, character building, and community engagement.
He further encouraged members to remain committed to the vision of the church and support the harvest project, stressing that collective dedication and generosity would ensure the successful realization of the harvest goals.
Speaking on behalf of the Harvest Planning Committee, the Chairman, Elder Peter Omokaro, expressed confidence in the success of the 2026 Harvest. He recalled the achievements recorded during previous harvest celebrations and noted that the chapel remains committed to expanding its outreach, community support programmes, and ministry activities.
Elder Omokaro urged members of the congregation and well-wishers to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, generosity, and unity, noting that the harvest programme presents an opportunity to support the church’s mission, community development initiatives, and the advancement of God’s work. He expressed optimism that, through collective commitment and God’s grace, the 2026 Harvest would record remarkable success.
Meanwhile, Aare Ademola Oyefeso, Founder and President of New Genesis Promotion International, offered a special thanksgiving to God during the service in celebration of his 70th birthday anniversary. The thanksgiving attracted family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers who joined him in appreciating God’s faithfulness, mercy, and abundant blessings throughout his life.

The occasion was filled with joyful praise, thanksgiving, and goodwill messages as attendees prayed for continued good health, divine favour, and many more years of impactful service.
