Youth stakeholders across Ikorodu Division have unanimously endorsed Adetokunbo Abiru for what they described as his outstanding leadership, visible developmental projects, and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and community development.

The endorsement took place during a well-attended press conference and stakeholders’ gathering held at the Ikorodu Town Hall, bringing together youth leaders, student union executives, voluntary organisations, uniform groups, community stakeholders, and political representatives from across the division.

The atmosphere at the gathering reflected appreciation and strong support for the senator, whose interventions were described as transformational across Lagos East Senatorial District and Ikorodu Division.

Speaking during the event, Comrade Jackson described Senator Abiru as a visionary leader whose projects have directly improved the lives of residents, students, youths, and vulnerable groups.

According to him, the gathering was not merely political but a platform to celebrate leaders whose performance and achievements are visible across communities.

He stated that while youths are often vocal when leaders fail to perform, they also have a responsibility to acknowledge leaders who are genuinely delivering democratic dividends.

Also speaking at the event, the President of the Students’ Union Government of Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Comrade David Oluwasegun Gabriel, said students across Ikorodu Division and LASUSTECH have directly benefited from Senator Abiru’s interventions.
According to him, the senator facilitated the installation of over 200 solar-powered street lights within the institution, significantly improving security and movement within the campus environment.

He further highlighted Senator Abiru’s support for community development projects, construction of community centres, rehabilitation and upgrading of healthcare facilities, educational support programmes, and youth empowerment initiatives.

The SUG president also praised the senator for establishing a state-of-the-art innovation laboratory where students have benefited from scholarships, technology training, and digital empowerment programmes.

He noted that many students have become technologically skilled and globally competitive because of opportunities created through the senator’s initiatives.

Speaking on behalf of over 13,000 LASUSTECH students, he said the endorsement was based on performance, accessibility, and visible impact.

Several youth leaders and stakeholders also delivered goodwill messages in support of Senator Abiru’s leadership and interventions.

Comrade Kuku Tosin, President of Persons Living With Disabilities in Ikorodu West, appreciated the senator for his inclusive leadership and empowerment programmes targeted at vulnerable groups and residents.

Comrade Soyiga Samuel Adeshina commended Senator Abiru for maintaining open access to youths and residents, describing him as a responsive and approachable leader.

Similarly, Comrade Olorunibe Boluwatiwi Islamiat, Coordinator of NYCN Ikorodu Central, described the senator as a compassionate leader who supports people regardless of status, relationship, or political affiliation.

Notable stakeholders present at the gathering included Senator Comfort Olafare, Legislative Assistant to Senator Abiru and Deputy Chairman of NYCN Lagos State Chairman, alongside youth leaders and representatives from various organisations across Ikorodu Division.

The gathering concluded with a unified call for continued development, youth inclusion, and sustained support for people-centred governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
