Prince Adetola Ganiu Olusegun Poplarly known as (Segun 3) formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Epe Constituency II, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration took place on May 2, 2026, at the Orugbo-Iddo Town Hall, where a large gathering of indigenes welcomed the aspirant in what observers described as a significant political moment for the community.
The event also featured the presentation of his Nomination and Expression of Interest Form to his people.
Addressing the gathering, Olusegun expressed appreciation to indigenes at home and in the diaspora for collectively funding the purchase of his nomination form, describing the gesture as a strong vote of confidence in his leadership and commitment to public service.
He explained that his decision to contest followed sustained calls from constituents in Ward G1 and other stakeholders across Epe Constituency II, many of whom cited his tenure as former Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as evidence of his capacity to represent the constituency effectively.
Olusegun reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the interests of Ikosi-Ejinrin and Eredo LCDAs, echoing the popular sentiment, “Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Lokan,” meaning it is the turn of Ikosi-Ejinrin to produce the next representative.
The event drew attendance from traditional rulers, political leaders, former office holders, and party stakeholders, who showed strong support for his aspiration. Leaders of Ward G1 unanimously endorsed his candidacy, pledging both moral and material backing ahead of the election.
The declaration ended on a note of optimism, with supporters expressing confidence in his chances as the race for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Epe Constituency II gathers momentum.
