The administration of the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, has commenced the clearing of blocked waterways and dense vegetation in Ise Community as part of efforts to improve accessibility and address environmental concerns in the area.

The intervention follows longstanding challenges caused by overgrown vegetation and obstructed waterways, which have affected movement within the community and increased the risk of flooding, particularly during the rainy season.

According to the council, the ongoing exercise is aimed at restoring the free flow of water, reducing flood risks, and reopening access to areas previously cut off by blocked channels and excessive vegetation growth.

The project is also expected to enhance security within the community by improving visibility and eliminating concealed areas that could serve as hideouts for criminal elements.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, which is expected to create a cleaner, safer, and more accessible environment while supporting better drainage and environmental sustainability.

The project reflects the commitment of the Kasali-led administration to implementing practical solutions that improve living conditions and promote sustainable development across communities within Lekki LCDA.
