The Mary Nwauju Foundation convened an orientation for its 2026 volunteer cohort, bringing together individuals committed to humanitarian service and community development.

Speaking at the event, the Founder of the Foundation, Mrs. Ngozi Adeolu-Idowu, said the organization was established in memory of her late mother, Mary Nwauju, whose passion for caring for the elderly inspired the initiative.

She explained that the foundation was created to continue her mother’s legacy of compassion and support for vulnerable members of society.

She noted that since the foundation’s inception, it has continued to make a positive impact through its outreach activities and humanitarian interventions.

Mrs Ngozi revealed that preparations are underway for another outreach programme in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, the hometown of her late mother.

According to her, the planned outreach is aimed at extending the foundation’s services to the community where Mary Nwauju was born, while further preserving her legacy of selfless service.

The founder also expressed appreciation to the volunteers who attended the orientation, commending their commitment to humanity and willingness to serve others.

She said the turnout reflected a shared passion for community development and expressed confidence that the new cohort would work together to advance the foundation’s objectives.

The orientation programme introduced volunteers to the foundation’s mission, values, and operational activities, while preparing them for upcoming projects and outreach programmes scheduled for the year.

It also provided an avenue for networking, team building, and reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to supporting the elderly and other vulnerable groups in society.
