The Apex leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency has passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Moses Olarewaju and adopted him as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives ahead of the primaries.
The resolution was reached at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting convened by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Apex Leader of the constituency.
The meeting drew 42 participants, including party stakeholders, community leaders, and aspirants, to deliberate on the political direction and future representation of the constituency.
Discussions focused on leadership credibility, proven capacity, grassroots connection, and electoral viability. At the close, 38 out of 40 leaders openly declared and voted their support for Moses Olarewaju, affirming him as the definitive choice of the apex leadership.
In a show of party unity, three out of five aspirants — Tunde Sanusi, Rasheed Jimoh, and Prince Adeola Adegbenga — stepped down and aligned with the leaders’ decision.
Senator Obanikoro conducted a unified voice vote, asking each leader to confirm their consent to proceed with the endorsement. The apex leaders formally affirmed Hon. Olarewaju’s candidature. The process was described as unprecedented in APC Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade LCDA, reflecting political maturity and strategic alignment.
While the leaders acknowledged that every aspirant has a constitutional right to contest, they stressed that Moses Olarewaju is the final decision of the apex leadership. Any contrary ambition would be against the collective authority of the constituency’s leadership.
The outcome signals a strong, unified front as consultations continue ahead of the May 15 primary election.
