The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, marked his birthday in a remarkable and compassionate manner by hosting beneficiaries of the monthly Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Widows & Elders welfare scheme to a special get-together at the Council Secretariat in Agbowa.

Anomo, while speaking with newsmen explained that his decision to celebrate his birthday with the senior citizens and widows is a testament of his dedication to their well-being. He clarified that the celebration was not about him; but rather an avenue to specially celebrate and also give them a chance to interact one-on-one with their son, the Chairman.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu kingdom, H.R.M, Oba (Bldr) Ganiyu Asunmo Aderibigbe Balogun; the Olota of Otta-Ikosi, H.R.M, Oba Elias Omoloro; and the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari. Also present were members of the Executive Cabinet, Legislators, and the Council Management.

During the celebration, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu kingdom specially appreciated the Chairman for his people-oriented policies and programs and encouraged him to continue caring for the elders and widows within the LCDA.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with joy by the honor and privilege bestowed upon them by the Chairman, offered heartfelt prayers for Akogun Anomo. Their prayers included wishes for his sound health, progress, and a long life.

After undergoing their free medical checkup, the beneficiaries received their monthly package which are; ₦5,000 Cash, Rice, Garri, Semovita, Beans, Spaghetti, Noodles, Salt, Seasoning, Locust Beans, Sachet Tomato Paste, Sugar and Eggs

They also got a range of items included in the pack as birthday gifts: Ankara fabric, Powdered Milk, Tin Milk, Top Tea, Milo, Bread and Jotters.

The celebration concluded with lively dancing and the distribution of their packages.

Overall, it’s a heartwarming experience of the Chairman celebrating his birthday by giving back to the community and showing appreciation for senior citizens and widows.

Anomo is indeed changing the narratives as he has continued to set a compassionate example for public service in the LCDA.
