Oldies Appreciation Game and Family Funfair holds Annual Amputee football federation in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA ~Ajasa-Info

Oldies Appreciation Game and Family Funfair held their Annual Amputee football federation yesterday 29th of April in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, several games like football, table tennis, children and activities and so on took place. In the two matches played, the first between team A and team B of the Amputee football federation of Nigeria where team B won 3:0 against team A.
The second match was between Olubee travels and Comfort edge with comfort edge losing to olubee travels with a score of 4:3.

Builder Olusesan Daini the Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA said, “I want to appreciate the brain behind this, it is commendable, I believe we should do all in our power to support . I will also appreciate Ademola Ogunlewe and many others. I believe this has come to stay as they have met with the Local Government. Due to the short period of time, we were unable to make it elaborate enough, We did what we could do and I assure you that we will still do more. In the subsequent years, I will still be supporting you you have done a lot and you need more support.”
He further promised to always support them even after his tenure as the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

Prince Ademola Ogunlewe chairman local organizing committee of the oldies event said,
“We are happy that we are able to hold this event ,and the rain is a shower of blessing. We started very modest in this competition and plan to make it a yearly tourist event. We are grateful for the chairman for choosing this particular month and we believe this event will be bigger than this, we have present many ex international, veteran referees, sports men and women and it will be good to continue to celebrate and appreciate them. We believe as an LCDA Igbogbo will be able to do more and thank you all for coming”.

Emmanuel ibaochi, captain of the Amputees football association of Nigeria said the event today was wonderful, we have not played in a situation like this with a cheering team. And this is an avenue to show that we are footballers and we can play anywhere , and we are very excited. Currently we have a league and a zonal competition in Lagos state where the team to represent the country will be chosen”.

Wasiu Babatunde, a retired International footballer, said the organizers have done well.”I believe in the forthcoming event, we will see better games than this, I believe that people can come and sponsor the event and it will help boost the fame of Ikorodu.” He said.

Obafemi ajiboye Moses a coach of the oldies games, said the innovation, apart from keeping us lively, warming us up and giving us a life to remember,it’s a good thing. I will like it if it was made an annual program, so we will see each other annually. I have seen a lot of my old friends and I am very happy to know they are alive. I will love it if the next game is more elaborate and with more sponsors”.
