
The Representative, Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Youth Parliament; Abdulmumin Edidi hosted an Inter-Secondary schools debate competition amongst 32 senior and junior secondary schools across the 13 LGAs/LCDAs in Lagos Central Senatorial District today 29th June, 2022.
The debate was initiated in line with recommendation of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Drug and Substance Abuse Control Policy Brief 2022, which recommends congnitive behavioural education for organized groups. It is a form of Peer-to-Peer education designed to initiate the conversation about drugs amongst students in secondary schools.

A total of 160 students participated in the debate competition, in which 4 for the Senior Secondary category; King Ado Senior High School, Queens College Yaba, Araromi Senior Secondary School and State Senior High School qualified for the final round, while for junior secondary schools; State Junior High School, United Christian Junior Secondary School, Queens College Yaba, and Kuramo Junior School qualified for the final round scheduled to hold Wednesday 6th July 2022.
The event also aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 3 Good Health and Wellbeing, and 16 Justice, Peace and Strong Institutions, as well as healthy lifestyle under Health and Environment in the THEMES agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu.
