
The campaigns are over, the election was over, sworn in done and dusted and the youths are in charge.
Yesterday was yet an historic event for the youths of Ikorodu West LCDA as the youths officially paid the councillors a congratulatory visit.
The Coordinator; His Youthfulness Comr Asoro Abubakri Olatunji who led the delegation extended the warm regards of the youths of Ikorodu West to the councillors, he expressed confidence in their capability to deliver on the mandate bestowed on them by the electorates while charging the Honourables to discharge convincingly to be able to prove to the world that the youths “CAN”.
Welfarism of the youths of Ikorodu West took centre stage of the deliberation including fruitful partnership on community services for the betterment of the residents of Ikorodu West.
The Councilors expressed great joy to receive the delegation while commending the leadership for it outstanding performance. They expressed readiness to work with the youths especially in the area of community service and other areas of youth involvement in governance. The council leader; Hon Enitan Jessica Oba is optimistic that the push for youth inclusion will get more boost when department for youth is created while assuring the commitment of the legislative chamber to it actualization. The Councilors took turn to give words of assurance that the chamber will work for the youths individually and collectively.
Hon Daisi Batife (Ward B), Hon Abimbola Bello (Ward C), and Hon Abimbola Owomilowomi (Ward E) were among Councilors present while the chamber leader Rt Hon Enitan Jessica Oba (Ward A) presided over the meeting. Other administrative staffs like the Clerk were also present.
While the youth delegation was led by Comr Asoro Abubakri Olatunji. Others present were the PRO; Comr Anuoluwapo Taiwo, and Financial Secretary; Hon Olamilekan Shofile. High Klaz Fellas, Igboolomu Youth Movement, Oke Oko Youth Movement, Unity Estate Youth, Ikorodu West Deaf Development Association, were among CBOs present and were officially introduced to their councillors respectively.
