The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ikorodu West Local Branch in furtherance to discharge of it constitutional duty as the umbrella body of all youth organizations has on March 9th 2021 presented it work plan for the year 2021 to the executive Chairman of Ikorodu LCDA, Hon Princess Olajumoke Ademehin Jimbo.
In his presentation, the Coordinator, Comr Asoro Abubakri Olatunji first appreciated the Council Chairman for her unrelenting support for the youths especially the sponsorship of NYCN executives to the youth leadership retreat held at Epe. Comr Asoro noted that the retreat has exposed the executives to lots of experiences that will further equip them for the assignment ahead.
While presenting the work plan, Comr Asoro noted that the youth council has decided to prioritize youth empowerment this year due to increasing number of social vices and youth restiveness. He noted that the beneficiaries are going to be drawn from the job portal launched late last year and it aimed to be reasonable empowerment that can duly and truly engage youths. He noted also that for March 24, the youth council will be supporting the state government fight against Tuberculosis in commemoration of world TB Day. He explained further that, the rising TB cases among youths and residents of Ikorodu has necessitated this.
In her response, the Chairman; Hon Princess Olajumoke Ademehin Jimbo appreciated the youth council for it distinctive leadership style while emphasising the administration’s comitement to youth development. She noted that, the youth must expand it coast and embrace more youths to it fold so that others can also see reason to shun violence and embrace new lease of life.
The Council Manager; Oladipo Otinwa, Chief of Staff; Alhaji Jamiu Kukoyi were present at the event.
