General Manager LSEB, Engr Mukhtaar Tijani continues to show his compassion for residents of Lagos Island community by launching a ‘Back to School Drive’. As schools are set to be reopened in the new phase of lockdown ease, the drive provided students ahead of resumption with educational items.
With the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted to the total closure of schools in Lagos, many concerns have been expressed by affected parents towards the paused education of their children.
According to Mr Tijani, the consequence of closure of schools is that many students have been relegated to the confines of their homes with no measure of academic knowledge acquisition within the last few months. He said this led him to look for means to reenergize the children towards studying and learning; providing educational items to enable the students embrace and stimulate their significant position as students and leaders of tomorrow.
Mukhtaar Tijani himself; a personification of admirable qualities seeks to use the medium to emphasise the value of education and a necessity of retaining focus on academic goals in order to secure a promising future.
While the message was for the students, it also by extension made reference to parents whose responsibility is to ensure that these children are able to uphold their optimistic visions of the future even as the world around them besiege uncertainties.
The GM himself led the distribution of these materials to ensure that despite the situation we currently face, these radiant lights of tomorrow are protected for they are our lights – our future.
