After the demise of Senator Dhikrullahi Adebayo Oshinowo as the Senator representing East Senatorial District, alot of people showed interest from different political parties, but these are the Sons of Ikorodu Division still in the the race.

The election is coming up 5th of December, 2020.


An accomplished economist, chartered accountant and foremost banker, Tokunbo Abiru has risen to the top of his career as a finance professional and banker and now seeks the mandate of the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District to serve as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He has previously served with distinction in the government of Lagos State as the Honourable Commissioner for Finance between 2011 and 2013 before returning to First Bank of Nigeria plc as Executive Director. He was appointed by the CBN as GMD of Skye Bank and led the spectacular rescue of Skye Bank and its transformation to the new Polaris Bank.

Tokunbo Abiru was born on March 25, 1964. An indigene of Ikorodu, he attended Government College Lagos, Baptist Academy Lagos for advanced level studies and Lagos State University graduating in economics in 1988. He holds a B. Sc Economics and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Honourary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School executive education programmes and is happily married to Mrs Feyisola Abiru, CEO of H & Y Ltd, an industrialist with a thriving furniture industry in Ikorodu.

His working career took him through several institutions including Deloitte (formerly Akintola Williams and Co), Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, First Atlantic Trust Bank and First Bank of Nigeria Plc before his appointment as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance in 2011 under the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN.

As Commissioner for Finance, he led the state’s floating of an N80billion bond earning it the EMEA Finance Best Local Currency Bond Award for 2012. His efforts led to a significant increase in Land Use Charge generated by the state government and the widening of the tax net to improve revenue generation by 2013. He returned to First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2013 as Executive Director after a very successful two-year period in the Lagos State Cabinet.

He was appointed in July 2016 by the CBN as Group Managing Director to lead the turnaround of Skye Bank in a bid to preserve the stability of the Nigerian Financial System, a critical assignment which he successfully accomplished leading to the birth of the new and transformed Polaris Bank Ltd. He has successfully positioned Polaris Bank as a leading, profitable, digitally enabled and systemically important Tier 2 bank in Nigeria.

Adetokunbo Abiru seeks to take his lifelong and career wide record of excellence into the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the nation’s highest legislative body, deploying his competences in banking and finance, public financial management, corporate finance, economy, industry and commerce, accounting and technology to the development of Lagos State and the Nigerian federation.

Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru is an indigene of Ikorodu and is a quiet but acknowledged philanthropist who has contributed consistently and immensely to poverty alleviation, empowerment, and community development in different parts of Lagos State.

In his sparkling career across Deloitte, Guaranty Trust Bank, First Atlantic Trust Bank, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Lagos State Government, Skye Bank and Polaris Bank, Abiru has consistently exhibited resourcefulness, integrity, innovation, accountability, and a commitment to excellence.


(Born October 15, 1967), is a Nigerian businessman, real estate developer and politician. He is the Chairman/CEO of  Redbrick Homes International Limited, the renowned developers of the iconic Amen Estate, Ibeju Lekki, in the Eastern part of Lagos.  

Gbadamosi was Born In October 15, 1967 in England to the  family of the late Fatai Gbadamosi and Alhaja Jemilat Gbadamosi. Gbadamosi is first of the thirteen children of His late father, Fatai Gbadamosi. Gbadamosi’s early life was reflective of the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child”.

Between 1972 and 1978, Gbadamosi Attended K. Kotun Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Surulere, Lagos. He Attended Government College Lagos, Eric Moore Road, Surulere, from 1978 To 1981 then moved to Government College Victoria Island and finished at Government College Ikorodu In 1985. He then attended the now defunct Lagos State School of Basic Studies, Agindingbi, Ikeja. Gbadamosi attended The Lagos State University (LASU) from 1986 to 1989.

In 1994, Gbadamosi joined the UK Branch of the National Conscience Party, which he represented in NADECO Forum (UK), a broad coalition of political groups and NGOs formed to help return Nigeria to democracy. As an active member of the forum, he helped organise the epochal Nigerian Democracy Week, culminating on June 12, 1995.

On his return to Nigeria in 2007, he supported the candidacy of PDP’s Senator Musiliu Obanikoro for the Governorship of Lagos State, and formally joined the PDP 2008.

He contested for the party’s nomination to run as candidate for Governor of Lagos State in 2011 and again In 2015 He joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in 2017, and won the party’s primary election in October 2018. He was the ADP candidate in the 2019 Lagos State Gubernatorial election in which he was the second runner up. Gbadamosi rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in March 2020. On September 5, 2020, He was announced ad the candidate for the People’s Democratic party in the October 31 2020, Lagos East Senatorial district Bye-election.

On his arrival in the UK in 1990, Gbadamosi started out working in small retail and service businesses, worked at Royal Mail as a mailman for a while, then London Underground as a station assistant, and did a stint as a mini-cab driver, and then got bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. He started out with his own cab firm, went into recruitment, and then into IT recruitment and finally into IT Training, Consultancy and Certification.

Adebowale Jeff is from Imota LCDA in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, Johnson is one of the Leading Management Consultants in Africa. He is the first Youth Performance Consultant in the world. Prior to 2020, he has worked in 6 consulting firms with 20 years working experience.

He also worked with several other organisations in different capacity ranging from Human Resource Manager, GM Strategy and Innovation, Business Service Manager, Project Manager, Resource Consultant, Corporate Affairs Manager, and Training Consultant. He is a speaker on National reforms, a Seasoned Adviser and an HR Generalist.

In 2005, he joined the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and since played critical roles with the Human Capital Policy Commission. He was involved in several national projects including the Ministry of Education Reform (recommending the return of missionary schools) and the review of the NEEDS document.

He was on the team of the Lagos State Ministry of Finance retreat in 2009 and single handedly managed a Team Building retreat for RF Planning and Optimization Unit of MTN Nigeria in 2009.

He also facilitated a class on Total Quality Management for the Federal Ministry of Power, Personal Effectiveness for the Ministry of Health, Lagos state and Capacity Development for Local Government Chairmen and members of Local Council Commission of the State of Ondo and has facilitated several training sessions for Small and Medium scale organisations.

He was involved in the consolidation of UNITY Bank where he played a major role in the HR Due Diligence bit of the project. He has since managed several HR Transformation, Large scale Recruitment (NNPC, NLNG, Mobil, GTBank, etc) and other Management project for big, medium and small scale businesses.

He recently implemented an enterprise transformation for JB Farms and was also the Lead Consultant (Project Manager) for the State of Osun’s School Administrator selection for the 11 new model schools across the State.

He is currently handling a digital transformation project for LAWMA.
Debo’s interest in Real Estate research and advisory has given several opportunities to advise investors/promoters on their projects. Starting from market research, feasibility study report, concept design, business plan and generating Info Memos for fund raising; development advisory and project management up to channeling the properties to sales/rentals.

His experience cuts across commercial, residential and mixed used development and recently hubs.
He has spoken at several university campuses including University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, Federal University of Technology Minna, Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye all in Nigeria and Houdegbe North American University, Benin Republic.

He is a teacher of Value, a writer and a seasoned orator. He had been on radio several times speaking on several work related issues and motivation. He held a page on TIMELESS magazine where he educates on several soft skills issues and business advisory.

With the passion to make the youths of Nigeria and Africa become great Leaders of the world, Adebowale Jeff Johnson embarked on an African tour to engage the African youths in Leadership training, Root appreciation and Value driven life. His first stop was Benin Republic, in July 2009, in collaboration with GPH of Houdegbe North American University.
