Omoba Kazeem Adewale Omotayo, popularly known as Educay General Jr., has formally declared his aspiration to represent Ikorodu Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The aspirant, described by supporters as tested, trusted, intelligent, competent, transparent, and accountable, is positioning himself as a grassroots-driven leader with decades of administrative and political experience.
Born 58 years ago into the Alagbo Nla Royal Family branch of the Rademo Ruling House, Omotayo is the son of the late Alhaji Musbauudeen Adesegun Omotayo-Olufowora (Educay General), a respected businessman and political figure, and the late Alhaja Sherifat Omotayo.
He began his early education at Mayflower Junior School and Mayflower Senior School, Ikenne, Ogun State—institutions founded by renowned educationist, Dr. Tai Solarin—where he developed a foundation for leadership and service.
Omotayo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University.
He also earned a Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Criminal Investigation from the University of Lagos, alongside a professional diploma in Cooperative Management from the Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele, Ibadan.
With about 25 years of meritorious service in the Lagos State Government, he has contributed to policy formulation and implementation across key ministries, including Agriculture and Food Systems, as well as Commerce, Cooperative, Trade, and Investment.
His political journey in Ikorodu has been marked by strong grassroots engagement and loyalty to party structures. As a protégé of his late father, he has played a significant role in mobilization efforts under the Olufowora Group of The Mandate Movement (TMM), contributing to electoral victories for the APC in Ikorodu since 2015.
Omotayo has also served as a member of the State Independent Campaign Committee during the 2023 general elections, further strengthening his political credentials.
Speaking on his ambition, the aspirant emphasized his desire to transition from “government service” to “democratic service,” pledging to leverage his experience as a civil servant to deliver quality representation for the people of Ikorodu Constituency I.
