Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has joined the statewide Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise, with activities conducted across major communities and industrial corridors within the council.

The exercise, held on Saturday, covered a wide stretch of the LCDA, from the Lekki Free Zone and Dangote Refinery axis to residential communities such as Osoroko, Lekki Town, Apakin, Idasho, Idotun, Lekuru, Imobido, Okunraye, Olomowewe, and Folu. Residents, traders, and stakeholders participated actively in the cleanup effort aimed at promoting a healthier environment.

Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, was present on ground and led the exercise alongside council executives, councillors, supervisors, special advisers, and other key officials.

Security personnel, sanitation officers, and Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators were also deployed to ensure effective waste management and compliance.

During the exercise, the chairman interacted with residents and traders, highlighting the need for consistent environmental cleanliness and responsible waste disposal.

He stressed that sanitation should be embraced as a continuous civic responsibility rather than a periodic activity.

The council also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the monthly sanitation exercise, with enforcement measures to ensure adherence across communities.
