Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has intensified its environmental sanitation efforts with a targeted cleanup exercise along the strategic Free Trade Zone and Dangote Refinery axis—an area widely regarded as a major driver of Lekki’s economic activities.

The intervention, carried out by the council’s Environmental Services Department, focused on clearing heaps of refuse and environmental clutter that had accumulated along the corridor. The exercise restored order and improved the aesthetic appeal of the axis, which serves as a vital gateway to industrial operations and investment inflow.

Council authorities described the move as part of a broader initiative to safeguard key economic zones, enhance ease of movement, and project a cleaner, more responsible image of Lekki LCDA to residents, businesses, and investors.

Speaking on the development, the Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), emphasized that sustainable development goes beyond infrastructure provision.

He noted that maintaining a clean and orderly environment is essential to supporting economic growth and ensuring public safety.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to continuous sanitation efforts, stressing that a cleaner corridor not only boosts productivity but also reinforces civic pride and environmental responsibility within the community.
