As part of his continued engagement with faith-based communities across Ikorodu Federal Constituency, the Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, hosted the 3rd Edition of the NASFAT Annual Ramadan Tafsir at his constituency office in Ikorodu.
The spiritually enriching gathering welcomed members of the NASFAT Ikorodu Branch, Muslim constituents, community leaders, and distinguished personalities who converged for prayers, reflection, and insightful teachings in the holy month of Ramadan.
The annual Tafsir, which has now become a significant spiritual fixture within the constituency, provided an atmosphere of devotion and sober reflection, as Islamic scholars and faithful alike engaged in teachings aimed at strengthening faith and reinforcing moral values.
In his remarks, Rep. Babajimi Benson underscored the importance of the Five Pillars of Islam – Shahada (faith), Salat (prayer), Zakat (charity), Sawm (fasting), and Hajj (pilgrimage) – describing them as the essential foundation of a true Muslim’s life. He emphasized that these pillars serve not only as acts of worship but as guiding principles for personal discipline, responsibility, and community service.
Crowning his message, the lawmaker stressed that beyond fulfilling the Five Pillars, Muslims must cultivate Taqwah – the fear and consciousness of Allah – in all aspects of life. According to him, genuine devotion must reflect in character, integrity, compassion, and commitment to justice.
Rep. Benson further encouraged residents of Ikorodu to continue promoting unity, mutual respect, compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, noting that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that foster spiritual growth and strengthen communal bonds across religious lines.
In a significant demonstration of that commitment, Rep. Benson announced a generous financial support running into several millions of Naira to the NASFAT Ikorodu Branch, reaffirming his dedication to the growth and propagation of the ministry. This gesture comes on the heels of the second edition of the annual Tafsir, during which he donated the sum of Twenty Million Naira to support the mission’s projects – a contribution that was widely applauded within and beyond the constituency. The renewed financial support at this year’s edition further underscores his consistent backing of faith-driven initiatives that promote moral uprightness and social cohesion.
Delivering the Tafsir lecture, Sheikh Qozeem Olamilekan Olapade, Chief Missioner of Anwar-ul-Islam of Nigeria, Ikorodu Branch, offered profound insights into the spiritual significance of Ramadan, urging faithful to maximize the holy month through increased devotion, charity, and moral discipline.
The event concluded with special prayers for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, its leaders at all levels of government, and for sustained peace, progress, and prosperity across Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
Among notable personalities in attendance were Chief Monsor Olowosago, Publisher of Oriwu Sun Newspaper; Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency II; Prince Adedayo Abdullateef Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government; and Mayor Ola Ameen Apanishile, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA.
Members of NASFAT and other Muslim constituents expressed deep appreciation not only for the warm reception and hospitality extended by Rep. Babajimi Benson, but also for his unwavering financial and moral support toward the advancement of the mission. Many described his sustained commitment as a reflection of leadership anchored on faith, generosity, and community development.
The 3rd NASFAT Annual Ramadan Tafsir once again highlighted Rep. Babajimi Benson’s inclusive approach to representation – one that recognizes the role of faith, unity, and moral consciousness in building a stronger and more prosperous Ikorodu.
