… Free Eye Screenings and “Walk for Sight” Set to Raise Awareness Across Community

As part of efforts to promote better eye health and vision care, the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is partnering with the Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA) to commemorate World Sight Day 2025.
The event, themed “Love Your Eyes: Vision for Everyone,” will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, and will feature a “Walk for Sight” starting at 8:00 a.m., followed by free eye screening exercises from 10:00 a.m. at various locations within the LCDA.
Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), encouraged residents to participate in the activities and take full advantage of the free eye care services. He emphasized the importance of early detection and preventive care in maintaining good vision.
“This initiative is about ensuring that our people are aware of the importance of eye health and are empowered to take steps to protect their vision,” Kasali said. “We urge everyone to come out, get screened, and spread the message to family and friends.”
World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness held globally to focus attention on the importance of eye care and vision health.
