The ISU Annual week started with a project tour by visiting schools that ISU have done their projects and fulfilled.

The Union shared hundreds of NOTEBOOKS to Pupils in three major primary schools in Igbogbo Kingdom as a way of celebrating her 66yrs of Existence.

Two classrooms were renovated in Methodist Primary School. Upon reaching there today, we checked the renovated classes. The Headmistress was thankful to us for what we have done and prayed. The President promised the students that another classroom will be renovated before the end of the Year.

Donated Chairs and Desks The Union was able to donate chairs and desks to pupils in Eleja Primary School.

Other activities were carried out during their week to commemorate the Union 60th Anniversary.

The grand finale day 11th of December 2021, some change makers in Igbogbo were recognized and awarded for their positive impacts in Igbogbo Community.

Comr. Clinton welcome the guest, “the journey started Saturday Jan 9 2021 we acknowledged I thank you all for being a backbone, it’s an honor for serving with my executives and SRC members”

Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun in his remarks says “I’m a foundation member our president was Olatunji bakare he’s still alive, i want to Congratulate you of the 66 years anniversary, the salt of our land which we have choose as motto will not sour by God’s grace”

He mentioned the members of the union that has become successful the likes of Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Hon. Gbenga Oshin and so on.

The fromer SSG says “Once again I commend you for keeping the flag flying, and I’m proud of you”

The president gave the run down of their activities in the last one week

Keynote speaker Hon. Hammed Aroyewun commend Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun and Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe for honouring the invitation of the students union.

Going down on the memory lane when the likes of Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun at a youthful age and makes things work during the administration of Alhaji Jakande, same as Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe when he was Minister of works.

“Likewise Hon. Gbenga Oshin was Student Union, he was one of the best Councillors during his days in Office that’s his in early 20s”.

“Youth are doing well in every helm of affairs, they are fully involved in Community activities in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.”

Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe in his own remarks commend the Students Union for a job well done “why did we start Igbogbo Student Union, we thought if we didn’t develop our people, they will be a problem in our community.”

1974 we started bursary award, and other educational activities in Igbogbo Students’ Union.

“I was supposed to be Chairman of Ikorodu Resource Group in 1999, that was when I became the Senator. But recently I was elected as the Chairman”

I played a great role in ensuring Students didn’t drop out of school, as the Chairman of resource group we can’t do it all but we can prevent possible problems.

“No spaces to accommodate Students in Schools in Igbogbo “

“Learners ate without school uniform food, shelter.”

“27 private primary schools in Igbogbo, no teachers nor curriculum in our schools.”

“Let’s join hands we can give the them text books raise funds provide etablets documentary.”

Is it possible we produce 1000 doctors Next 10 years? and the the audience chant YES

“Only the children of the rich can afford a quality Education”

“Every society must take a look into developing the women”

“For any Community or society Development because they are the transforming agent”

“There should be a statistics of all that we are doing!”

“The next Isu administration should have proper planning and work constitution.”

“The ISU should create a platform for guiding admission seekers into the university.” Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe added.

Panel session connecting the dots between youth and Governance between Barr. Adeleke Aroyewun, Comr. Comfort Olafare, and Comr. Tayo Odusanya they gave a possible solutions to the roles and values youth need to add to Governance if Youths are given such opportunity.

Miss Toluwani Dopemu (Overall Best Student), Mr Andu Arif Opemipo (ISU Ambassador), Comr Ogunlana Romoke (Winner, Public Speaking Contest), Comr Aliu Saliu (Executive of the Year), Hon Tijani Adebayo Abdulsalam (Parliamentarian of the Year)

Comr. Olafare Comfort (Presidential Award (Female Category), Comr. Olawale Adeniji – Presidential Award (Male Category), Dist. Comr. Adeleye Idowu Israel (Distinguished Comrade Award of the Year), Barr Adeleke Aroyewun (Stakeholder of the Year), Hon Oduniyi Samson (Socialite of the Year)
