Young Leaders Hub Project is an initiative of Dynamic Youth Organization of Nigeria DYON is an in-school program targeted at young people who will be groom to be effective and potential leaders. We envision a society in which every young person, as an agent of change, can meaningfully participate in society and decision-making processes that impact their life and where all young people can actively engage their strengths their in solving the greatest challenges facing the youths. This project is aimed at training 1000 Effective Leaders.

YLHP aimed to prioritize programs that ignite youth’s energy, passion and idealism as a powerful prevention resource for our Nation. Trained Ambassadors will be engage in solving social problems identified in their schools. This training will provides a framework or roadmap for implementing projects such as Educational/Vocational empowerment, building of libraries, capacity building trainings for young people, Health reforms programs, strategies to reduce substance abuse risks among youth and engage in community outreaches.
Our initiative is set to open opportunities and skills for young people in the country through YOUNG LEADERS HUB. It is a design projects that will helps to address a community need focusing on real issues affecting young people.
Our Believe is that this hub will address behavioural problems like substance abuse (Drug abuse) and involve themselves in community initiatives like building a new library/community center and designing projects that will further advance their Constituencies.
Young Leaders Hub got an approval from Lagos State Ministry of Education, Education District 6 to Implement this project in 3 schools (Ajumoni Senior Secondary School, Mushin, Ejigbo Senior High School and Ilupeju Senior Grammar School) situated in Lagos State.
The training started with Ejigbo Senior High School where 300 Prefects and Class Captains were trained on issues affecting development. We trained on Leadership traits, Decision making, Public Speaking, Value Theory, Time Management and Teamwork, Career Excellence & Focus with practicable approach.
Students were engaged in group discussions where they highlights how those things affect their growth.
The School Vice Principal in-charge of Adminstration commended the team for thinking it well to build the capabilities of their student. He acknowledged the methodology of teaching as one of the best practice in the world.
Election of Change Ambassadors was conducted by the students. This Ambassadors will identify social problems facing the school and profer solutions to them.
The Team Lead, Amb. Abiodun Ajayi said the training is set to change narrative by building the capacity of the generation next. The team lead reiterated the end goal of the project which is to see every young person taking responsibility. The model will be adopted by the state government and International NGOs because it will be driving physical improvement in the world.
Mr Dimeji, Co-Team Lead on the project spoke extensively on why we all need to start focusing on the Development of the generation next. A nation who desire long term growth must start building young minds.
The training ended with inauguration of the Change Ambassadors for the school.
