
The Council Leader of the 6th Legislature, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Hon. Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s Democracy Day, commemorated annually on June 12.
In a goodwill message released to mark the occasion, Hon. Banjoko congratulated citizens on the continued growth of democratic governance in Nigeria, while emphasizing the importance of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among the people.
The Council Leader described Democracy Day as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s political history and a reminder of the sacrifices made by patriots who fought for democratic ideals and good governance.
She urged residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Nigerians at large to remain committed to the principles of democracy, uphold the rule of law, and contribute positively to national development.
Hon. Banjoko further called for collective efforts towards fostering peace and harmony across communities, noting that sustainable progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of unity and mutual understanding.
