The recent article by NEWS BUSTA rating aspirants for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Epe Constituency II is nothing more than a poorly scripted hatchet job — sponsored, mischievous, and completely detached from reality. To label OlaKunle Omololu Dabiri, an indigenous son of Agbowa-Ikosi, as “inexperienced” with “low political connection” is not just inaccurate, it’s laughable to anyone familiar with his track record.

Clearly, the sponsor of this piece is rattled by the momentum OlaKunle’s candidacy has generated across Epe Constituency II.

The facts are on record and cannot be rewritten by a faceless blog. OlaKunle’s leadership journey began at the *University of Lagos as Secretary General of the Students’ Union Government between 1998–2002*, a period when he represented over 35,000 students with remarkable stability. During his tenure, there were *no student riots, no hostility, no breakdown of order* — a testament to his calm, consensus-driven leadership style.

That same era also afforded him the privilege of engaging directly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was then the Governor of Lagos State, on matters of student welfare and good governance. That exposure to governance at the highest level of the state shaped his understanding of policy and people long before many of today’s political actors found their footing.

From there, he took that same discipline to the grassroots as Supervisory Councilor in Ikosi Ejinrin (2011–2014) — the LCDA his mother tirelessly helped to create — and later to Bariga, Somolu (2017–2020). His service did not stop at Nigeria’s borders.

While in the diaspora, living and working in the *United States of America*, OlaKunle remained deeply connected to Lagos politics and community development. It was from that vantage point that he founded ALL4BAT — ALL4BOS, a youth-driven sociopolitical movement with members spread across the state, mobilizing support for good governance and actively participating in Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term bid.

His contributions did not go unnoticed. In recognition of his consistent impact and loyalty to the APC vision, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant to the indefatigable Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Olusola Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on LASAA (2024–2026).

OlaKunle’s exposure is both local and global. Having lived and worked across continents, he brings a blend of grassroots grounding and international perspective to public service — a rare combination that strengthens his capacity to attract opportunities, partnerships, and progressive ideas for Epe Constituency II. From ACN to APC, the party name may have changed, but the mission of _service, impact, and excellence_ has remained constant.

So we ask again: how does a man with this trajectory — from student leader to governor’s aide, from grassroots mobilizer to policy advisor, from diaspora advocate to statewide youth convener — suddenly become “inexperienced” in the eyes of NEWS BUSTA? The answer is simple: the article was never about facts. It was about fear. Fear that the people of Epe Constituency II have found an advocate who is both rooted and refined, both accessible and capable. We urge our people to disregard this rubbish, sponsored narrative and stay focused on the real choice for representation. The next chapter is clear: Lagos State House of Assembly, Epe Constituency II.
