… VOW TO RESIST 3RD TERM AGENDA FOR INCUMBENT

Political leaders in Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have rejected what they describe as moves to institutionalise a third-term agenda in Epe Constituency II, vowing to resist any attempt that goes against established rotational agreements and democratic norms between Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs.
The stakeholders clarified that while constitutional provisions allow individuals to seek elective positions, any attempt to pursue a third-term outside agreed political arrangements within the constituency would be unacceptable and rejected outrightly.
In a strongly worded position, the leaders expressed concern over third-term bid by the incumbent, warning that such a development could undermine internal party agreements, disrupt political balance, and set an unhealthy precedent in Epe Constituency II.
They emphasized that the long-standing rotational arrangement and political understanding within the constituency (Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs) must be respected to ensure fairness, equity, and inclusiveness in representation.
According to them, no single individual should dominate the political space at the expense of others, stressing that it is the turn of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA to present candidates for the next House of Assembly election in Epe Constituency II in 2027.
The leaders also called on party authorities and relevant stakeholders to uphold both constitutional provisions and internal agreements guiding tenure, candidacy, and electoral processes.
Reaffirming their commitments to the collective interest of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, the political stakeholders pledged to mobilize support against any third-term agenda that contradict the will of the people.
They further urged party members and residents of Epe Constituency II to remain vigilant and support efforts aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and fairness in the political process.
