
In a bid to empower the youth and enhance the technological capabilities of the community, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, has commissioned a modern ICT centre at Ikorodu Town Hall.
During the commissioning ceremony, Rep. Benson expressed his gratitude to the members of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) for their tireless efforts in ensuring the realization of this project. He thanked Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe for his unwavering support for the youth and students of Ikorodu. Rep. Benson stated that the ICT centre is equipped with 150 laptops, 15 CCTV cameras, air conditioning units, fire alarms, sound systems, and solar power systems. He revealed plans to partner with SAIL Lab, initiated by Senator Abiru, which he has spoken with him about it already, to provide professional training for young people in the community.
Rep. Benson emphasized that this project is a testament to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, noting that all these achievements are possible through this initiative. He added that the continuous effort in supporting APC is yielding positive results. Rep. Benson thanked everyone for their prayers and support.
Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, commended Rep. Benson for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Ikorodu. He noted that the ICT centre would be greatly appreciated by the community’s youth.
Architect Taiwo Kara, Chairman of IDRDG, thanked God for the remarkable occasion and expressed gratitude to Rep. Benson for the project. He highlighted the centre’s potential to empower future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the community.
Dr. Metilulu, representing the HRM Imota LCDA, thanked Rep. Benson for facilitating the project, which would benefit students in their upcoming exams.
Prince Adewale Ajasa praised Rep. Benson for continually setting the pace and bringing great projects to Ikorodu Division. He prayed that God would continually uplift Rep. Benson and that the gods of the land would be with him.
Otunba Olusesan Daini, speaking on behalf of the leaders of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, thanked Rep. Benson for the project. He noted that it would prepare children for the world beyond exams and thanked Rep. Benson for all he does for the division, urging him to do more.
Bashorun Rotinwa, Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Board, implored students to make judicious use of the ICT centre. He thanked Rep. Babajimi Benson for bringing this to Ikorodu, also thanked Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe for continually pushing Ikorodu to the world map.
Engr. Amid Oduborisa emphasized the importance of ICT in the global space. He stated that the initiative was well-timed and would greatly benefit the community, as some courses studied in schools are no longer employable, and ICT is the future.
Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, thanked Rep. Benson for the project. He highlighted his efforts, along with his colleague Hon. AMA, in pushing Ikorodu’s development agenda at the state level, stating that soon, the focus would come to their division.
Mama Benson expressed her gratitude, saying that God has blessed Ikorodu, and everything Rep. Benson does is a testament to the Benson family values. She thanked Rep. Benson for the ICT centre and prayed that God would continually uplift and protect him.
Hon. Nurudeen Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development thanked Rep. Benson for loving Ikorodu and always attending to their needs. He urged everyone to secure and protect the ICT centre so it would remain useful for their children.
