In a bid to improve the learning environment, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu constituency, distributed over 600 sets of conjoined two-seater desks and chairs to public secondary schools in the Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The initiative, which benefited 12 public secondary schools within Ikorodu Local Government and its five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) Ikorodu Grammar School, Yewa Grammar School, Ikorodu High School, Odokekere Community Junior School, along with Luwasa Community Secondary School, Abule-Eko Secondary School, Lajo Community Secondary School, Reri Secondary school,  Isawo Grammar School, Agbede grammar school, Ansarudeen grammar school, ifelodun high school was welcomed by principals, teachers, and students. Many expressed gratitude, noting how the desks and chairs would ease the strain on overcrowded classrooms and provide students with a conducive space to focus on their studies.

Students from various schools appreciated the gesture. Adejoke Adewunmi, a student from Ikorodu Grammar School, said, “We are so grateful for these new desks and chairs. It’s a big relief for us, and we can now focus better on our studies.”

Omolara Ogunleye, a student from Yewa Grammar School, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “The new furniture will make our classrooms more comfortable and conducive for learning. We appreciate Rep. Benson’s efforts in improving our learning environment.”

Temitope Ajayi, a student from Ikorodu High School, added, “We are thankful for Rep. Benson’s support. The new desks and chairs will definitely help us to learn better and achieve our goals.”

Abimbola Oyedele, a student from Odokekere Community Junior School, concluded, “We’re so happy with the new furniture. It’s a great motivation for us to work harder and make our school proud.”

“This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to education and the future of our youth,” Benson stated. “By investing in their learning environment, we are equipping them with tools to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.”
