
Rep. Babajimi Benson, member House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency made another history in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) by flagging off the Selewu road project, a long-awaited infrastructure development that has brought joy and relief to residents who had suffered years of abandonment.
Rep. Babajimi Benson was represented by Mayor Deen Sanwoola the Director General iCare Foundation emphasized the importance of the Selewu road, highlighting its strategic role in connecting other communities and easing transportation challenges. “This road will not only benefit the residents of Selewu, but also provide a vital link to neighboring communities, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and services,” he explained.
He stressed the economic value and welfare benefits of the road, underscoring its importance in enhancing the community’s overall well-being.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during the construction process, warning that any disturbance would lead to the departure of contractors and materials.
The joint CDA Chairman of Selewu, expressed gratitude to the MHR and those who facilitated the project for bringing smile to their face after so many years of abandonment.
Builder Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA assured residents of continuous work for the growth of the local council development area and congratulated the people of Selewu for the significant development. He highlighted the road’s importance, stating that it was one of the first roads to be prioritized due to its impact on multiple communities and voting power.
The chairman reassured citizens that the Government is committed to making Nigeria a better nation for all.
Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom represented by Odofin of Igbogbo kingdom extended greetings and prayers, urging parents to encourage responsible behavior and cooperation with contractors.
Other notable speakers included Chief Olusola Olugbode, who appealed for support and peaceful cooperation, and the APC LGA Chairman, who thanked Babajimi Benson and contributors to the development of the community.
