The Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club, Laid foundation of food bank at Oba Adeboruwa palace, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA which took place on the 23rd of March.
The President, Lion Asake Modinat Wahab, Lion Olokunola Taofik the Project Director and Lion Benjamin Ijeh a member of the club represented the club, while Leo Faniyi Omolara First Vice District President Leo District 404A1 Nigeria represented Igbogbo platinum Leo Club.
According to the President of the club Lion Asake Modinat Wahab “Having done our community assessment and studies hunger became top piroty in most homes who couldn’t avoid a meal per day indicating extreme poverty thus the passion from Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club to provide the first of its kind in Igbogbo kingdom a food bank to carter for such scenarios of the impoverished in the society, the food bank would provide dignified support for members of the public locked in crisis without diminishing there pride or ego.”
She added “The food bank is opened to Cooperate Bodies,Companies, government bodies or individuals like minds etc Who may want to support to reduce the hunger in our community.”
The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, laid the foundation for the food bank alongside High Chief Tajudeen Duduyemi Onasanya Odofin of Igbogbo, Otunba Olarenwaju Obayomi Otunba of Igbogbo, Chief Moshood Odusanya Baale Eregidan and other Prominent Chiefs of Igbogbo Kingdom.

Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko Deputy Leader Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA gives out 500 sanitary pads to the female students of Lajo community Junior Grammar school and Zumratul Islamiyyah Junior Grammar school, in Igbogbo.
150 pads were distributed at Lajo community junior grammar school, while 350 pads were distributed at Zumratul Islamiyyah Junior grammar school, to make it 500 in total.
Lajo community junior Grammar school is within the jurisdiction of Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko ward, while Zumratul Islamiyyah is her Alma mater.
Dr. Oladebo Dapo- Ojo the Head of Department for Health Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA she gave health tips on how the girls can know and take absolute care of their body during and after their monthly cycle.

“Menstruation is an important phase in every girl’s life which signals growth and biophysical maturity. Every normal girl or woman experiences this change as a natural, involuntary process.”
“Lots of girls are constrained or even deprived of the right to manage their menstrual cycle adequately, some don’t even know what’s next to do, social biases and economic inadequacies like poverty, while others who may not face any social rebuffs may lack the financial capacity to manage menstruation hygienically and safely. Therefore, paying attention to proper menstrual hygiene simply becomes an opportunity cost and the alternative foregone.”
She added”It is my way of showing concern and care towards our girls to give them the mental alertness needed in terms of their body growth and to as well catch them young.”
As part of his campaign promises, the administration of Bldr. Olusesan Daini yesterday, 19th May, 2022 begins construction of market Street’s road, Igbogbo.
The construction was awarded to Western Concrete Nigeria Limited and the road will be completed and delivered is the space three to four months.
