… Rep. Benson guarantees that contractors will recommence work on the Ikorodu-Sagamu road this year.

Rep. Babajimi Benson Distributes food packs to Households in Ikorodu federal constituency, In commemoration of the World Food Day celebrated every October 16th and to also mark the 7th Anniversary of iCare Food bank, which is an initiative of Rep. Babajimi Benson and his iCare Foundation, which took place earlier today at his constituency office.
The Foundation buys grocery food items and redistributes in bags called APO AANU or MERCY BAGS for needy, physically challenged and helpless widows within Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
Rep. Babajimi Benson, the Chairman House Committee on Defense, expressed mixed emotions about the current state of hunger and vulnerability in the community. He acknowledged the efforts being made to alleviate these challenges but expressed his desire for a future where the people themselves can provide food for others.
Rep. Benson revealed that a food intervention program, coordinated by Renewed Hope of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to take place this December. He emphasized the importance of reaching every nook and cranny of the community to support the most vulnerable individuals. The program will be implemented with determination and backed by the federal government initiative to feed as many people as possible. Rep. Benson will spearhead this initiative in his federal constituency, ensuring that stable food reaches the tables of as many people as possible.
Beyond food palliatives, Rep. Benson mentioned upcoming groundbreaking road projects that will bring about significant changes. Efforts are being made to complete the Ikorodu-Sagamu road, with discussions already held with Arab contractors. Rep. Benson is actively working on these initiatives and is in communication with the appropriation committee to secure the necessary funds.
He said The good news is that provision for the road has been assured in the supplementary budget, and work is set to begin this year.
Rep. Benson said he has another major project up his sleeve, which is scheduled to commence in the next three weeks.
He added that He his working alongside with the Lagos state Government to fix the road and he has already informed the Governor about it. He has also drawn his attention to the 80-bed hospital in Imota, stressing the need for its commissioning. Rep Benson said the newly appointed Commissioner for has barely spent one month in office, so they have taken stock of all these roads, and he said he his closely monitoring the progress. It won’t be long before we see action on these fronts.
Hon. Fathiu Salisu, the immediate past Chairman of Ijede LCDA, expressed his admiration for Rep. Babajimi Benson and his iCare food bank, which they are celebrating its 7th anniversary. Hon. Salisu commended Rep. Benson for not only establishing the food bank but also for his numerous other impactful initiatives, such as infrastructure development and more.
