Rep. Babajimi Benson member House of Representatives commissioned the newly reconstructed Obun-Ale Market and a complete building of the vocational center at Igbe-Ogunro in Ijede LCDA earlier today, August 7th, 2023.
The market had structurally deteriorated over the years, causing setbacks for easy business transactions, which affected the internally generated revenue of Ijede LCDA.
In three months, the open market got a facelift with major structural changes, including interlocks, roofing, plumbing works, painting, and solar light installation through Rep. Babajimi Benson.
Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola the Director General of iCare foundation who represented Rep. Babajimi Benson gave his speech, He commended the Chairman Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo for her hard work and bringing different projects to the communities for the benefit of her people.
He appealed to the residents to make use of the provided necessities responsibly and co-operate with the Government officials in enabling the execution of other projects to come.
In addition, Rep. Benson’s promise to bring more projects to the area will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the community. His dedication to improving the area has already been felt, and residents are excited about what the future holds.
The Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has called on market men and women to vacate the roadside and move to the renovated market space to avoid accidents and loss of lives. She implored the community people to co-operate with the officials by vacating the roadside and move to the renovated market.

Hon. Motunrayo said, “even though we are looking out for the people, we cannot chase them from the roadside market without providing where they can move to as this is their source of income, This project was sponsored by Rep. Babajimi Benson and the buildings were built within the span of three months.
Additionally, Hon. Motunrayo expressed gratitude towards Rep. Babajimi Benson, who built additional classrooms for students at the vocational training center in Ijede.
She assured the people of Ijede that her administration is working on the groundbreaking of building a school in the community before the end of her tenure. She earnestly asked for continuous love and support towards her administration from the people.
The Iya Oloja and Baba Oloja of Ijede Kingdom applauded Rep. Babajimi Benson and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba for their unwavering commitment to the development of Ijede LCDA, and their dedication to improving the area has been felt by the residents, and the community is grateful for their service.
