As the 2023 elections draw closer, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has canvassed the people of Ijede to turn out en masse and vote for all the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gbadebo-Alogba, who is the youngest local government chairman in Lagos state, today mobilised a throng of party faithful for a house-to-house rally to solicit votes for the APC.

The party’s candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Constituency II, Hon. Abiodun Moshood also joined the Executive Chairman as she led the campaign train from Igbodu junction inward Ijede round Egbin-Kingdom to the nooks and crannies of the council area.

Gbadebo-Alogba noted that the campaign was necessary and more crucial now to educate and remind the electorate the importance of electing Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s president on Saturday, February 25. For her, a victory for Asiwaju is a victory for Nigeria.

She further used the avenue to thank the residents of Ijede for keeping the peace in and around the LCDA since the inception of the campaign season.

While reiterating that Ijede remains peaceful as always, the Executive Chairman urged residents to remain calm and go about their lawful activities and duties as we head to the polls.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA presented 1,887,150,717.81 Year 2023 budget to the council Legislators for approval.

The Council Chairman was able to give a breakdown of what the 2022 budget was used to execute despite the little they got from the internal revenue.

“I want to welcome everyone to this occasion of the presentation of the year 2023 budget to the legislative council.”

“This year 2022 remains a remarkable year in the history of Ijede LCDA as we are able to record significant progress in our drive to affect the lives of our people and community positively.”

“Despite our meager allocation and little internal revenue base, our commitment to our people made us to be very prudent in managing our finances resources and we are therefore able to achieve these results.”

“The renovation of the Library and the Egbin Community Town Hall, Official vehicles for our political office holders, rehabilitation of the Ijede to Oke Eletu Road etc are all evidences of our resolve to bring good governance to our people.
Today I am happy to say that our collective efforts yielded results has we are able to record 80% budget performance this year. Our 2023 budget is tagged ‘Budget Of Distinctive Impact.”

“This is because we are determined not to relentless in our efforts to consolidate on Infrastructural Development, Education, Health and Youth Empowerment etc.”

The total budget size is 1,887,150,717.81

“The analysis as follows; Personnel cost is 840,809,897.05 Overhead expenditure is 581,840,820.76 and total capital expenditure is 464,500,000.

Personnel cost is 44% to budget size, overhead is 31% while capital is 25%

thereby building a legacy that will transcend our administration.”

“I want to sincerely appreciate this legislative council for the smooth working relationship that exist between us and to pray that this cordial relationship will continue so that we can work amicably together to achieve our developmental purposes.”

The Council Leader Hon. Fadeyi Kehinde commend the Executive Chairman and other Executive Members for timely presentation of the year 2023 budget and he gave assurance of quick passage of the budget, as the 2022 budget cover over 80 percentage of its pledge.

Other Legislators of the house are Hon. Basirat Kehinde Deputy Leader, Hon. Shitta Akeem Majority Leader, and Hon. Nurudeen Saka Chief Whip.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba the Executive Chairman Ijede LCDA gave out food support to residents of Ijede, the initiative of Ijede Tunrayo Ayo ni temi food support commenced November last year as part of Program line up to mark her 100 days in office.

“I am delighted to welcome everyone to the year 2022 second phase of the Motunrayo Ayonitemi Food Support Innitiative that commenced at the inception of this administration.
This distribution of palliative is a personal initiative for me to affect lives through interventions that would bring relief to the less privileged.”

“While this program can only come twice in a year I want to implore everyone to accept it as a gesture to extend love to all.”

“Since we started last year, we have touched thousands of families particularly the elderly and the physically challenged..I feel therefore fulfilled that this initiative is bringing relief to our people especially at a time like this when the economy of the country is making cost of living high to the average citizen.”

She added “I am particularly happy that this second phase is coming at a season where love and goodwill should be shared to all and I want to use this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous year 2023 in advance.

Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) held a town hall meeting of APC leaders in Ikorodu Constituency II.

In attendance were Ward and LGA Executives, Ward Councillors, Executive Committee Members and the forty (40) Local Government Delegates across Ikorodu Constituency II.

The objective of the town hall meeting was to achieve purposeful reconciliation before going into the 2023 general elections.

Megalite event centre in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA was the venue for the LGA’s and Ward Executives consultation meeting yesterday 22nd of November 2022.

In his speech, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) expressed gratitude towards the leaders for the epoch-making responses to his call for the town hall meeting and readiness to work as one big family to record a landslide victory for all APC Candidates in the soon coming election.


Appreciating everyone for taking out their time to attend the meeting, AMA stated that soon enough, he’ll be taking his campaign to the constituency 2 regions i.e Igbogbo Baiyeku, Ijede LCDA and Imota LCDA, soliciting a massive show of support from all party loyalists.

Vowing his pursuit not to disappoint Leaders, Supporters, predecessors, AMA exhorted party-eligible voters to turn up en mass to vote for him during the election.


He continued, “My mission is to deliver quality representation for the good people of Ikorodu constituency 2 at the Lagos state house of Assembly, capitalising on the great feats attained by my forebears”.


“As a progressive; representing Ikorodu constituency 2 will keep me busy developing our region, likened to genuine inhabitants and government relationships”.
Illuminating different sectors he maintains interest to enhance across the region, AMA said that health, education, empowerment and social development would be his priority if elected.
According to him, youths will be committed to various work schemes in Igbogbo Baiyeku, Imota and Ijede while further plans will be put in place to ensure the community is safe for business.

Further charging stakeholders in attendance, Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Daini called on all members to turn up and deliver a landslide victory to the party flag-bearers.


Bldr. Daini continued “We have over 100 polling booths in Igbogbo, 70 in Imota and 40 in Ijede, with 15 votes from each booth we’ll realise 3,000 accrued votes from constituency 2 to propel our candidates”.

Directing his words of guidance towards the constituency 2 candidate, Daini implores Hon. Abiodun not negate the promises he made to both leaders and supporters once he emerged victorious.

Expanding that AMA should gaze at the exemplary works of his predecessors and utilise them as a template to improve his constituency further.

“You should not get to the house of Assembly and stop listening to your leaders or people, it is a place for you to put the interest of the people first” Diani asserted in advising Hon. Moshood.
Former chairman of Ijede LCDA, who also contested for the house of assembly seat at the primaries, expressed his enthusiasm on the turnout and essence of the stakeholder’s meeting.


Hon. Fatiu Salisu noted, “It is the first stakeholders meeting AMA is having after his victory at the primaries, and to me, the meeting has been a fruitful outing because virtually all stakeholders from constituency 2 are present pledging their support”.


“We’re using this opportunity to also let the world know that we’re fully behind Hon. Moshood Abiodun Aro, which we’re going to demonstrate during the elections by the special grace of God”.
Adding that it’s Ijede’s turn to take a competent candidate to the house of assembly, Hon. Fatiu concluded that all hands must be on deck to ensure AMA emerge victorious.


Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Prince Wasiu Kunle Agoro and the Council Boss of Ijede LCDA, Hon Motunrayo Gbadegbo-Alogba took the stage to substantiate their massive support for Hon. Ijede LCDA, under the leadership of Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, held special prayers sessions for Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu who recently marked his 57th birthday and the 2023 presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Prayers were held intermittently by Christian and Islamic clerics. It was a moment to give thanks to Almighty God for the lives of Mr. Governor and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The prayer sessions, as organised by the Council Chairmen across the ’57’ LGs/LCDAs in Lagos, was attended by the executive committee of the council, members of the legislative arm as well as management staff of Ijede LCDA.

IJEDE VOCATIONAL CENTRE STUDENTS MARK PROJECT WEEK ~Ajasa-Info

On Friday, the Batch A students of the Vocational Training Center, Igbe-Ogunro in Ijede LCDA, marked their project week.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Kareem Femi Kabir, on behalf of the Council Chairman, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, graced the occasion.

The project week which commenced on Monday, May 23rd came to an end on Friday with the exhibition of the creative works done by the students after six months of learning various vocational skills.

Hon. Kabir, delivering the Chairman’s speech, said, “It is indeed a thing of delight to finally complete six months long learning in various vocational training that will enrich and empower you all with different sources of skills as livelihood and to finally be able to showcase your talents is a thing of pride and joy to you and your family members and well wishers.”

He further assured the students that the Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba administration would continue provide moral and financial support to enable them utilize properly the skills they have acquired as a means of attaining economic independence.

“With determination, hard work and good sense of direction, nothing will hinder you to achieve success,” the Vice Chairman advised.

The day draws attention and brings to the fore awareness on problems faced by children, Children’s Day brings together a pot-pourri of activities, across different segments of the Nigerian society. Save A Girl Initiative holds sexual and reproductive health awareness campaign for secondary school girls in Ijede

A non-governmental organization, Save A Girl Initiative, on Tuesday, organized an awareness talk on sexual and reproductive health for female students of Luwasa Junior Secondary School in Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos.

The project themed: “Pad A Girl: Cultivating a Healthy Lifestyle” was held in partnership with Ijede Local Council Development Area.

The Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba who was also the host, while addressing the students, urged them to prioritize their personal hygiene especially during menstruation.

Gbadebo-Alogba implore the students to shun improper and unhealthy use of sanitary pads, citing the possibility of contracting deadly diseases through such harmful acts.

The program also featured distribution of 100 sanitary pads to the female students by the council boss and the school’s vice principal.

The group’s Executive Director, Comfort Olafare noted that the intervention was prompted by the need to educate young girls on their sexual and reproductive health.

“We understand the importance of health especially for young girls. That’s why we put together this project in line with the mission of Save A Girl Initiative to nurture girls for self actualization. Most of them are misinformed on the use of sanitary pads which ideally shouldn’t last more than 8 hours,” she said.

Ijede LCDA vocational training center students bags a certificate as they showcase their acquired skills during their graduation ceremony at the council Secretariat premises.

In a society where the issue of low standard living and poverty has become a rampard issue, Ijede local government administration empowered the best graduands from the two batches in the vocational sections from the total of One hundred and eighty one graduate in year 2021 to ensure poverty reduction and job creation.


The Executive chairman of Ijede LCDA Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba express her happiness, ” I am very delighted and grateful to God for the opportunity to fulfil this great desire in the tenure of my administration”.

She implore the graduands to judiciously use their skill to change their life positively and contribute to the society at large.

Empowering someone is equivalent to feeding someone for life, so I implore you all and especially the best graduands who were given equipment base on their respective skill Fashion Designing, Hair Dressing, Tillers, Bead Making, Soap Making, Barber etc. they should make use of it rather than selling or abandoning it as handwork is also a crucial skill when education is not available or not in use”

The chairman Mrs Gbadebo Alogba also implore and encourage the parents and guardians to enroll their child/children into the vocational center while waiting for their admission into tertiary institution as this will ensure that they are positively engage during this period because like the saying goes “An idle hand is the devil’s workshop”.
