OGUN URGES MSMEs TO APPLY FOR PAYROLL SUPPORT ~Ajasa-Info

Following the reopening of the MSMEs Survival Fund Payroll Support Portal today, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 by the Federal Government, the Ogun State government has called on eligible Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the State to take advantage of its 13,000 Payroll Support quota by applying for the Support via the Fund’s website, http://www.survivalfund.gov.ng.

A release signed by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe states that the Federal Government decided to reopen applications for the Payroll Support to ensure States yet to fully utilize their quota do so and also ensure eligible MSMEs who missed out on the initial application deadline get to benefit from the Payroll Support stream of the Fund.

Longe called on eligible businesses not to delay in applying for the Support as the application would close on Tuesday, 2nd February, 2021.

She added that the Payroll Support which is one of the five streams of the Survival Funds enables the Federal Government to support the payroll obligations of MSMEs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with the payment of between N30, 000 and N50, 000 to at least three employees and a maximum of 10 employees working with the benefitting MSME.

According to her, only Nigerian-owned businesses with a minimum of three employees and maximum of 50 employees registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) are eligible while every applicant must have verifiable Bank Verification Number (BVN).

She further states that MSMEs must upload all registration documents, bank statement showing Payroll receipts to their employees for the last three months, employment register and Small and Medium Enterprises Development (SMEDAN) certification while applying on-line.

Applicants are enjoined to get their SMEDAN certification via https://smedanregister.ng/register before commencing their application for the Payroll Support.
