The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, has presented a brand-new operational utility vehicle to the Owutu Division of the Nigeria Police Force to boost security operations and enhance rapid response across the community.

The handover ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the council secretariat, highlighted the administration’s commitment to strengthening grassroots policing in Ikorodu.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Sulaimon emphasized that a safe environment remains critical to sustainable development, noting that effective governance thrives where security is guaranteed. He described mobility as essential in crime prevention, adding that the newly presented vehicle would significantly improve the operational efficiency of the police.

“We are not just giving a bus; we are ensuring that when our people call, the response is swift and effective,” he said, describing the intervention as a strategic boost to the local security network.

The council boss also aligned the initiative with the Renewed Hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the development vision of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stressing that improved security is fundamental to economic growth and community well-being.

Receiving the vehicle, the Divisional Police Officer of Owutu Division, CSP Justin Uro, commended the chairman for the proactive gesture, noting that the vehicle would enhance the division’s logistics and overall effectiveness.

Also present was the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Area Command, ACP Janes Agene, who underscored the importance of mobility in effective policing.

The event was attended by key council officials and stakeholders, including the Council Leader, Hon. Jessica Enitan Oba; Bello Adelaja of Ward C; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Ajibike Salau; Council Manager, Engr. Rotimi Okunowo; Supervisor for Security, Hon. Femi Dairo; Chief of Staff, Hon. Tayo Akinyemi; and other dignitaries.
