Residents of Folu community in Lekki are set to experience improved mobility as work progresses on the long-anticipated stabilization of the road linking Ikeun Town.
The project, spearheaded by the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, aims to address years of difficulty faced by commuters and residents due to the poor condition of the road.
For many in the community, the Folu road has been a source of daily challenges, ranging from difficult commutes to restricted access during peak periods and adverse weather conditions. However, ongoing intervention efforts are beginning to change that narrative.
Construction activities are currently in full swing, with heavy-duty equipment deployed to the site. The project involves stone base stabilization, a critical phase that reinforces the road structure and prepares it for a more durable and motorable surface.
Officials say the initiative goes beyond infrastructure repair, emphasizing its broader impact on economic activities and daily life within the community. Improved road conditions are expected to enhance connectivity, ease transportation, and support local businesses that rely on accessible routes.
The council described the development as part of its broader commitment to delivering impactful projects that directly benefit residents, noting that the stabilization work represents a practical step toward sustainable urban development in the area.
As work continues, residents remain hopeful that the project will bring lasting relief and improved quality of life, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of infrastructure within Lekki LCDA.
