Mackbet All Stars emerged victorious at the grand finale of the All-Star Unity Cup, organized by the AMA Smile Foundation, after a thrilling display of football excellence on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Igbogbo Ultra-Modern Stadium.

The event drew a massive crowd of football lovers, dignitaries, community leaders, and traditional rulers from across the Ikorodu Division, who gathered to celebrate unity, talent, and youth empowerment through sports.

The All-Star final lived up to its billing, as Mackbet All Stars secured a hard-fought 4–2 win over Triple 0 All Stars in a pulsating encounter that kept spectators cheering from start to finish. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, but Mackbet All Stars proved too strong for their opponents, earning the admiration of fans and dignitaries in attendance.

The Unity Cup, a flagship project of the AMA Smile Foundation, was conceived to promote peace, community bonding, and youth development through football.

The foundation’s convener and host, Honourable Aro Moshood  Abiodun (AMA), who represents Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the dignitaries, royal fathers, and residents who supported the initiative.

AMA explained that the idea behind the tournament was to create a common platform where people could unite and young talents could be encouraged to channel their energy productively through sports. “Football has always been a tool for peace and progress.

Seeing our people come together in joy and unity today proves that the right decision was made,” he said. He also lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his consistent efforts in promoting youth and sports development across Lagos State.

Delivering a goodwill message, Chief Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, praised Hon. Aro for his visionary leadership and dedication to community growth through sports.

She emphasized that sporting activities remain essential to grassroots development and called on schools to revive inter-house sports as a way to nurture future champions.

Also speaking at the event, Hon. Solomon Bonu, Chairman of the Lagos State House Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture, commended the AMA Smile Foundation for sustaining such an impactful initiative. “Football brings light and recognition to any community,” he noted, encouraging the youths to remain disciplined, focused, and passionate about their dreams.

The grand finale was graced by several royal fathers, including the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali; the Olubeshe of Ibeshe, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya; the Obateru of Egbin, HRM Oba Adeoriyomi Oyebo; and the Ranodu of Imota, HRM Oba Ajibade Bakare Agoro. In their royal remarks, they collectively commended Hon. Aro’s unwavering commitment to community service and prayed for his continued success in leadership and humanitarian efforts.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding players in recognition of their stellar performances throughout the tournament.

Patrick Onoyans of Mackbet All Stars was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Oni Samson received the Best Goalkeeper award. The Highest Goal Scorer award went to Dimeji Michael, also of Mackbet All Stars, who netted seven goals during the competition.
