It was a moment of celebration and fulfillment at Olowora community in Ikosi–Isheri LCDA on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, as Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of the LCDA, delivered three newly constructed roads; Adetuberu Street, Temitayo Obisanya Street, and Isaac Omole Street — as part of activities marking her Second Term 100 Days in Office.
The roads were commissioned by top government officials, including Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, and Chief Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment.
In her speech, Princess Bada expressed satisfaction at the successful completion of the projects, describing them as a symbol of renewed commitment to community growth and economic connectivity. “This road project was more than just a demand from residents — it was an economic necessity. It has opened up residential and commercial corridors, bringing the National and State agendas to life at the grassroots,” she said.
She emphasized that the roads belong to the people of Olowora and urged residents to take ownership of the projects, maintain them, and ensure they serve generations to come.
The Mayoress also appreciated contractors, engineers, and community leaders whose cooperation made the project a reality. “Your collaboration demonstrates what we can achieve when purpose meets partnership,” she added. “In Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, the Renewed Hope Agenda is in action. We will continue to move forward as long as God gives us strength.”
In her remarks, Chief Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, the former Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, commended the Mayoress as “a shining example of women in leadership”, noting that she has represented women, the APC, and the entire Ikosi-Isheri community with excellence and integrity.
The Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, who represented Hon. Bolaji Robert, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, lauded the Chairman’s leadership for complementing the state’s infrastructural drive and urged other council heads to emulate her vision and dedication.
Earlier in his welcome address, Prince Adedeji Samson, Secretary of Unity CDA, appreciated the Mayoress for her unwavering efforts in developing Olowora and making the community more habitable.
He prayed for God’s continued strength and wisdom for her leadership while drawing attention to a few pending needs in the area, including additional street lights, road bumps, diversion of erosion from Olowora Road, and the covering of open gutters to enhance safety and sanitation.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, unity, and gratitude as residents, party members, and community leaders celebrated the transformation of their area. The event ended with music, prayers, and photo sessions, marking another milestone in the ongoing development agenda of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Rasaq Amodu, Director of Local Government Affairs; Pastor Tunde Abiodunrin, Chairman of Unity CDA; Alhaja Okubambo, Iyaloja of Olowora; Alhaji Alarape, Vice Chairman of the CDA; Alhaji Alani Olonade, party Chieftains, Community Leaders, among others.
