
The Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to education during the distribution of educational materials (exercise books and school uniforms) to pupils across all public primary schools in Ijede LCDA on Monday, 22nd September.
This initiative is part of her administration’s annual “Back to School” program, aimed at supporting parents and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to primary education.
In her address, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized that her administration prioritizes education and has made it a point of duty to provide annual interventions to support students and parents.

She urged parents to continue supporting their children, assuring them that her administration will do its best to provide necessary assistance.
Mrs. Oluwakemi Ayo Michael, Council Manager of Ijede LCDA, emphasized that the council recognizes the importance of education in shaping the future of its young people. She stated that the distribution of school uniforms and educational materials is part of the council’s efforts to support with parents and ensure that students can focus on their studies without unnecessary distractions.
The council’s initiative includes providing school uniforms to all students, regardless of whether they already have one or not, as well as supplying school books and writing materials. Mrs. Michael urged students to take advantage of the council’s efforts and focus on their studies, making their parents and authorities proud.
According to Mr. Adewusi Adewumi Kayode, Head of Department (HOD) for Education, Ijede LCDA, the Chairman of the council, is a compassionate leader who prioritizes the education and well-being of pupils.
Under her leadership, the council has embarked on several initiatives, including the construction of new classroom blocks for students and fencing around the school premises to ensure pupils safety. He emphasized that the Chairman believes in investing in the future of young people, recognizing them as the leaders of tomorrow.
The HOD for Education also called on parents to partner with the school authority and government to achieve better educational outcomes for their children. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the current economic situation but emphasized the need for collective efforts to improve education in the area.
Miss Osuolale Hanifat, a teacher expressed her appreciation for the Chairman’s commitment to providing pupils with necessary resources. She prayed for the Chairman’s continued success, saying, “God will bless her more and more” for her dedication to education.
Hanifat also encouraged the pupils to capitalize on the opportunities provided and strive for academic excellence. She urged them to “keep pushing” and “put more effort” into their studies, emphasizing that with the basic needs being met, they have a solid foundation for success.
