The Mayor of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanishile, has embarked on a series of visits to key areas in the LCDA, including the heavy rainfall-affected area in Adamo, as well as Parafa, Olorunda, Odonla, and Lukosi Oba Health Centres. His visitation schedule also included a Water Aid training session in conjunction with Ikorodu North LCDA, Area offices (Agbala and Odonla), Operation Feed Africa Initiative for Children at the Marriage Registry unit, Road Safety Corps office, NSDC office, and LASTMA yard.

During his visit to the Adamo road construction site, the Mayor was informed that the area is prone to erosion during heavy rainfall, which often causes significant damage to the community. After inspecting the site, Hon. Apanishile promised to report back to Rep. Babajimi Benson and work together to find a lasting solution to the problem.

At the Primary Health Centres, the Mayor, accompanied by senior council officials, promised to rehabilitate the environment and provide better healthcare services to the community. He urged the matrons to treat the health centers and facilities with care and to provide quality care to patients. Hon. Apanishile also assured them of unwavering support in healthcare and encouraged them to continue providing quality services to the community.

In a pep talk, the Mayor emphasized the importance of voting in large numbers during elections. He explained that government allocation of social amenities and healthcare equipment is often based on the number of people living in an area. “When you didn’t vote, they will think that’s only a few numbers of people you have in that area,” he said, stressing the need for the community to always come out in large numbers to vote.

The Mayor also attended a 2-day Water Aid training session on water safety plans for facility caretakers, Female Local Area Mechanics, and LCDA staff in Ikorodu North LCDA. During the training, Hon. Apanishile pledged the LCDA’s commitment to continuous partnership with Water Aid in providing water services to the community. He expressed his administration’s willingness to work with Water Aid to improve access to clean water and sanitation in Ikorodu North LCDA.

At the Operation Feed Africa Initiative for Children, the Mayor expressed gratitude to the initiative for bringing the program to Ikorodu North LCDA. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that children do not go hungry and expressed his administration’s willingness to partner with the initiative to provide the best for the children. Hon. Apanishile stated that it is the duty of the government and stakeholders to ensure that children are well taken care of and provided with their basic needs.
